How To Master Self Control – The importance of conscious decision making to manage life’s hurdles regardless of what is going on around you.

The art of mastering your own “stuff”.

Here’s a little 10min express session for Mojo Making ▶️ How can you stop sabotaging your business goals and your happiness, your love or your health:

1. Stop Self Sabotage By Being On Purpose

* Focus on the positive* Be aware of your ego versus your intuition.* Practice RADICAL Self Belief* Be clear on what is truly important to you – know what you value the most and set clear boundaries* Be super conscious of your words – What we speak about we think about – every minute you spend talking about what went wrong or what might go wrong you’re stopping yourself from being in the right now reality.

2. Stop Self Sabotage By Focusing Forward

The past is not an excuse to prevent possibilities in your future.

Don’t let old baggage keep you weighed down – this is where we need to replace FEAR with CURIOSITY. Have a little listen to the Leap of Faith episode on what that means and how to do it.

Remember hanging on to what we know even if it is uncomfortable is usually due to lack of faith and belief in ourselves and our own decision making. If you still need to validate your fear because of what went wrong before then you are consciously choosing to stay stuck in that story. You won’t always get evidence of the future – but thats where we need to be bold and back ourselves. Follow your heart it always knows the way.

3. Stop Self Sabotage By Leading By Example

Words have wings so speak good things to yourself as well as others. If you are challenged putting your own goals and needs first then remind yourself of someone or a group of people that is imperative to inspire to live their truth and deliver their best work with enjoyment and passion. This could be thinking about leading by example for your family, your co-workers or your employees. Leadings walk the talk. Find focus by ensuring you are practicing what you would consider to be authentic, courageous leadership in your own life and doing the right thing.

Finally – remember you are worth it. Being of value is an inside job. You deserve the best, expect, embody it and believe in yourself.

How to recover from mistakes and allow others to recover from theirs.

Why it’s crucial to have humility and grace when we make a mistake – and allow others to rectify and be there to improve. Making a mistake is part of life. Repeating it knowingly is a completely different matter altogether.Episode 144 on The Mojo Maker podcast and here on YouTube here’s how you can be proud to recover from mistakes and allow others to rectify and learn from theirs as well.

Why should you value your mistakes?

In this video I talk about the VALUE of making mistakes and what to do when you do make a mistake. The only problem you have when you make a mistake is if you keep repeating it! – There’s been a real concern recently with businesses.

– We HAVE to learn how to forgive and to move on when you make a mistake.

Own it, acknowledge, learn and lean in. Ask yourself, “How can I rectify it?” “How can I do things differently?” “How can I apologise?” “What can we do to make sure we never make that mistake again?”

We’re so quick to cut ourselves down and cut others down. Giving yourself or other people the chance to learn from mistakes.

Give people the opportunity to own up to themselves and speak their truths. If they don’t at least you created the option and then the rest is up to them.

– By not creating a safe place to stuff up at least once we create all this does is create more of a fear based society where our children, friends, and colleagues won’t put their hand up early enough.

If we try to avoid making mistakes and trying something new, it’s like we’re on autopilot. Not every mistake has a bad intent. Sometimes it’s an honest slip up – i.e we don’t have the experience, we don’t know the right questions to ask, accidents happen, there is only a problem when people continue to make the same mistake and refuse to change. Give yourself a break.

1. Take the time to learn about mistakes. Making mistakes is not a negative failure.

2. We need to give people and businesses a chance to own up to their mistakes If they’re willingly coming forward with good intent. How to forgive yourself for past mistakes? It’s about being able to recognise you made a mistake and have that intent to fix it and find a solution.

How to recover from mistakes and allow others to recover from theirs?

Stand in your truth and take action and fix that mistake. Lastly, don’t beat yourself up! We make mistakes and we learn from them, THAT’S how we build our experiences. You can’t please everyone. You’re not going to be perfect. – It’s progress not perfection that matters.

How To Build Trust in Yourself and Others

My 5 Anchors T.R.U.S.T. The trust series part 2.

We hear “you have to trust yourself” all the time, but do we even understand what trust really means?

When was the last time you TRULY trusted yourself? ⚡️⚡️

* We need to learn the difference between limiting beliefs and trusting yourself.

* Avoid staying in the perceived safe zone, to throw away fear of rejection and abandonment.

Trust starts when being anchored in your truth. If we don’t evolve, we cant have a revolution.

In this video, I talk about how to Build Trust and use my 5 Anchors for T.R.U.S.T ⭐️ to back yourself and lead by example. We cannot make our decisions from fear and guilt, only from truth and your truth.

T stands for TRUTH, you have to know your truth.

R stands for RESONATE, you have to have know what resonates with you. When you have something that resonates with you, all the outer noise stops. You have to stop chasing shiny things and learn what truly matters to you.

U stands for UNIVERSE, back yourself and show up for yourself. You have to show up for yourself with your promises, to make sure your actions meet your goals.

When you show up for yourself, you start building confidence with consistency

S stands for sovereign, 100% owning your sh**t (your side of the street) and being who you are. Congruently in all places with all people. We are required to show up as our sovereign self! You have nothing to fear, you simply have to be 100% yourself.

T stands for time. With all the other steps, you will begin to know yourself so well that you will know when it’s time to go for an opportunity, when it’s time for you to take a break, or when it’s time to take care of yourself. When you are in your truth, you have confidence, consistency, and clarity.

To trust yourself, you HAVE to understand your truth. You have to OWN your truth! You are your future, you are not your past. What is holding you back from growth, integrity, and trusting yourself?

TMM141 In The Driver’s Seat With Alex Cormont.

How to be focused and motivated to follow your dreams, and why mindset is crucial for success.

How did a budding pro basket baller from Paris turn into one of the worlds leading relationship experts?

I interview Alex Cormont, a Paris-born relationship-coach who mentors all around the world in the ways of love and relationships.

This episode follows Alex’s life and his constant drive and tenacity to be authentic. From his original determination to be the best at sport, then at university and the underlying interest in human behaviour and psychology that has shaped his career and purpose today.

We talk leadership, the “wins and grins”, growth processes, and much more.

“Getting in the driver’s seat” was Alex’s life priority.

As a child, Alex learned the value of self-awareness from a young age, Cormont sought the ability of reinvention, particularly in the face of adversity. 

With two incredibly supportive parents, Alex was still the pioneer by opting for an unorthodox choice of study and career after an injury put his budding pro career in basketball off the ‘core option’ for his future.

Having to make a direct 180 degree turn in his dreams post injury, Alex knew education had always been a core parallel to sport.

He reflects the ability to receive personal development coaching on mindset and mental approach during his junior camps as an athlete, was a major benefit when dealing with setbacks and loss.

Emphasising the value of self-confidence, awareness, and adaptability.

How, wherever we are in our personal growth, the impact of internal fears can have a fierce hold on of self worth, perspective and our willingness to make courageous decisions in life.

Whether this is the limitations placed upon you by others, the weight of their expectations, or even the impossible standards set by the world, Alex encourages you to push through it. 

Echoing my sentiment of the importance of a fresh perspective and curiosity rather than fear, Cormont reiterates that though the “voids” in our lives may seem impossible.

To instead have confidence in yourself and your path forward, however ambiguous to navigate it.

Being Self Aware and in the driver’s seat

An important lesson throughout this interview is the importance of connection to “self”. Whether this is inner passions, confidence, alignment, or accountability.

It’s crucial to understand the critical role that mindset plays.  Plus the follow through that it requires to truly stay in alignment.

Understanding yourself will allow you to nurture your individualised path forward and give you the confidence in your given journey.

You are in charge of your thoughts and what we think about we bring about. Pay attention to how you treat and talk to yourself first. This is so crucial for achieving success, happiness and alignment as we evolve through careers and choices in life.

– Once the self can be realised, the inner magic and power can truly be utilised.

SETTING INTENT ON THE TRUTH (YOUR HONEST GOALS)

Our society struggles with the truth – how to share the truth or how to receive the truth. We are SO afraid to say/be/feel what we truly want because of the alienation of truth in our society.

We often talk about acceptance and diversity but on a day to day basis… we are experiencing everything BUT that.

How do we get grounded and take back control of our lives?

Step Two is ACTION

We have to show up for ourselves (ACTION)

We, as people, ask our leaders to step up more and show up more. We ask them to be more open, more vulnerable, more honest ….. but behind closed doors we are bringing them down.

We, as a society, decide to undermine the very thing we are ASKING for with gossip.

We must not pull the good leaders down as we ask them to inspire us to be the change we want to see. Be careful what you say about other people who aren’t in the room… words have wings.

It’s what you do when no one is watching, is what really counts. BE the change you want to see!

Step Three is ATTITUDE.

The Third Pillar or Step is our (ATTITUDE).

Commit to a positive mental attitude, no gossip, limiting negative self talk is often the hardest thing of all!

How can you make sure to stay grounded and connected during times of real change? Set pillars and boundaries to recognise the difference between putting walls up and having a healthy acceptance of yourself.

We have a society thats exhausted with information but at a loss of self confidence...

No matter where you sit now, everyone is experiencing overload, panic, and so much information – which is ironic, because despite the resources and tools around us, overwhelm is seemingly getting worse. I really believe that the fastest way to help solve overwhelm and go from chaos to calm is to stop for a second and figure out how you can take care of yourself. That’s the first step in adulting, recognising the signs of overwhelm and having the awareness to sit and think about what the discerning voice is that you’re listening to going forward. 

In today’s video I walk you through how to go from a place of chaos to a place of understanding your situation and how you can start to define what your ‘great’ looks like.

B) Mindset is everything:

* How you navigate through this rally of life is really up to your perspective. 

We know what we need to do to change, but there seems to be something holding us back – the fear of conflict that comes with standing up for our truth, communicating it, and then going after it.

In action mode, the best way to start creating change in your world is to understand that conflict does not always have to be the co-requisite of change.
