Are you someone who is so used to struggling to meet your goals that you can't even imagine what success would feel like?

    If so, you're not alone.

Those raised with a lower - or middle-class mindset are not taught that success is even an option.

We are taught that stability, security, and avoidance of failure are what matter the most -- and for a lot of us, this means doing what we know best --> struggle.

This means that successfully completing our goals is something that we will rarely achieve.

    But you CAN change that.

Listen in to this episode of The Flight School Podcast to learn:

    • How our primal brain holds us back from making positive changes
    • How our upbringing, education, and societal programming keep us stuck
    • Why females are especially prone to playing small
    • 10 ways to stop our tendency for struggling
    • Why we will never be able to take flight until we begin the work of visualizing success

  • Saying "YES!" to Your Success

Did you know that there's one tiny choice that you need to make in your goal-setting process that you probably haven’t been making that has the potential to change EVERYTHING for you?

It’s a choice that many of us miss when we set out to do hard things, but if we don’t make it, we are doomed to fail.

    That choice is saying “yes”.

    Yes to your goals.

Yes to the results you want to create.

Yes to doing whatever it takes to get yourself to the finish line.

Because if you aren’t deliberately saying “yes”, you are saying “no.”

    No to new opportunities.

    No to new connections.

    No to growth.

Listen in to this episode to learn more about how to choose a powerful "YES!" to your success, your growth, and your future.

  • Get Your Dreams Unstuck with Intentional Action

Are you spending so much time learning all the things about what you want to do that you've unintentionally put off taking action to bring those things to life?

Learning is GREAT. It's important to be educated and prepared for the journey you want to take.

But there has to come a point where we stop the intentional learning and start applying it by taking intentional action.

THIS is something that I see a lot of you putting off.

Because learning is safe. It feels productive. We are good at it.

The DOING....well, that doesn't feel so good.

If you find yourself always in research mode and rarely in action mode, this episode of The Flight School Podcast is for you!

    Listen in and learn:

    • Why feeling productive can ultimately get us in trouble
    • How to know when it's time to stop learning and start taking ACTION
    • Why perfect preparation is not possible (and what's even better than preparation)
    • Where I've been hiding in research mode and not taking enough action -- and how I got myself moving again

  • The Big, Bad Buffering Behaviors That Are Keeping You Stuck

You're probably familiar with what happens when a computer gets overloaded with too much energy -- it begins to buffer and eventually crashes out.

But did you know that we humans buffer too?

Buffering (for us humans) is what happens when we are trying to do hard things and we get overwhelmed with discomfort. We shut down and alleviate the discomfort by engaging in other, less-stressful behaviors that I tell you all about in this episode.

And this creates a problem because when we buffer instead of working on our goals, we stop making progress.

Are you having problems meeting a goal? You may be buffering.

Tune into this episode and find out if you are!

    In this episode, I discuss:

    • What buffering is and why we do it
    • How buffering actually increases the amount of discomfort we feel when doing hard things
    • How to break free of a buffering cycle
    • Six well-used examples of buffering behaviors (Which ones are your favorites? I tell you mine in this episode.)
    • The one thing you need to do to curb your buffering

Listen in and stop buffering before it stops you.

  • What Would You Do If You Weren't Afraid?

    Let's talk about FEAR.

Not the kind of fear that has you running away from spiders, but the kind of fear that has you running away from your dreams.

Humans are biologically wired to avoid unfamiliar things, and our primal brains use the emotion of fear to keep us in our comfort cave whenever we try to do something new or difficult.

But is following your dreams really something to fear?

This episode of The Flight School Podcast addresses that, as well as how you can overcome the fear of doing hard things.

    Highlights:

    • Why humans are conditioned to avoid doing hard things
    • The game your brain loves to play with you to get you to avoid doing hard things
    • Why we should make decisions based on FACTS, not feelings
    • Why we should embrace the discomfort of doing hard things as a sign that we are growing
    • A journaling challenge to help you consider your options
