As a Registered Dietitian, I feel it's paramount you have all the facts when it comes to your nutrition. Over the years, you have seen people on both ends of the spectrum—one side saying high protein diets cause kidney issues and the other side with bodybuilders telling you you need DOUBLE the amount you actually need. As with most things in nutrition, the answer lies in the middle.
Today, I wanted to clear everything up by answering the following:
-How much protein should you eat on a daily basis?
-How much protein is too much? And are high protein diets safe?
-What are the best sources of protein to eat regularly?
-Protein meal timing: best times to eat it, how much, and can you absorb more than 30g per meal?
-Protein hacks: 5 easy to ways to consume more protein

Most people listening to/watching this are going to be similar to me—ambitious, driven, and always yearning for improvement. But when is enough enough? When will we be satisfied? If we're constantly looking ahead of us, we're never reflecting on the past or appreciating where we are now. It's similar to chasing a horizon. We feel like we're moving closer and closer, but the horizon never seems to end.
That's because it doesn't, which begs the question: what should we do if we'll never be satisfied? How do we accept this burden of ambition? I try to break it down in this Minisode, one rambling at a time. Hope you enjoy.

I had only met Sean a few weeks before this talk, but I could tell from his IG content alone that we would have plenty in common and that would make for a great podcast. Well, he didn't let me down and dropped some gems of wisdom on this one that hadn't been touched on before. He is a former collegiate swimmer, he used to work in affiliate marketing, he has gone through a divorce, he was a meditation blogger, and somehow he popped out on the other side with a successful online coaching business, helping hundreds of people with their fitness and lifestyle through his "DLDNation."
We dive into the twists and turns of Sean's story and he gives plenty of hope for those of you out there who think pursuing a life they love is hopeless. It's never too late to be intentional with your daily actions, one struggle at a time, to ultimately lead you to the life you want to live, and Sean maps out his blueprint for doing exactly that.
He's a super thoughtful and articulate guy, full of advice, so I think you guys will really enjoy this one. Give it a listen and connect with Sean below.

Since we're stuck inside, it's likely some of the habits we're building now will carry over with us once things start getting back to normal. If that consists of more bad habits than good, it can have a major effect on our relationship with food, possibly reinforcing poor behaviors.
In this Minisode, I wanted to give my best tips on avoiding that and what you should be doing instead to actually strengthen that relationship with food. Too often we focus on the physical side of things before addressing the psychological side, which is actually backward. You need that strong mental foundation before pursuing physical goals, and this Minisode will point you in the right direction to doing so. Hope it helps!

Wanted to bring a little "hope" to today's Minisode! Believe it or not, this quarantine will end one day and we will be able to wrap our hands around some iron once again. So in today's Minisode, I wanted to cover exactly how you should approach your training once that time comes, and how to make the smartest choices possible. Not only will you be able to capitalize on some serious gainz, you'll also be able to set yourself up for long-term progress. But if you do things incorrectly and head back to the gym guns blazin', there's a good chance you'll limit your growth and actually increase your risk of injury. It's all covered in this one, so give it a listen and start daydreaming about that light at the end of the tunnel...onward!

Michael Farr, aka Silent Mike, is basically the broest of all bros, which is why I was so excited to talk to him. He's a podcaster, YouTuber, video game streamer, and strength coach. Best of all, he sports a haircut that he's coined as the "modern mullet." He's a true renaissance man and we had a tremendous convo.
Of course, we reminisced on video games for a bit since he is so heavy into them, but that productively led to a back and forth on the value of leisure time. Who gets to decide what is "a waste of time"? Then that carried over into coronavirus talk and we laid out how we've been handling things, plus visited worst-case scenarios. And throughout the entire podcast, there was an underlying theme of living how you want to live, in spite of what you feel like you're "supposed" to do to get money, fame, success, etc.
I knew Mike would bring the heat in his typical down-to-earth manner and I was not disappointed. I don't think you will be either if you give this one a listen. Enjoy!

I asked my Instagram followers what they were struggling with right now and the overwhelming response was trying to find motivation for home-workouts. And I get it, it's tough. But I recently heard of the concept of "micro-workouts" and thought it was a great idea. High frequency, low intensity, but super quick workouts sprinkled in throughout the day. Instead of doing one session a day for 60 minutes, you'd do 6 "workouts" for 10 minutes each. They're all based around simple foundational movements and require minimal equipment. For some of you who are working from home, these can be crucial to keeping you energized and limber throughout the day. I've listed some examples in this episode, but you can find more at the link below. Enjoy!

I was recently listening to Joe Rogan's podcast with Navy SEAL Andy Stumpf (linked below) and he gave some incredible advice on what being "mentally tough" actually means. Sure, being able to endure pain and using brute strength is important, but they won't get you through BUD/S SEAL training alone.
Stumpf has gone through the training himself and now he has the honor of being an instructor, which means he also gets to ask trainees why they decided to quit the training after giving up their life for this sole mission of becoming a SEAL. The #1 answer the trainees give for quitting is that they feel overwhelmed, mentally and physically. They failed to do one thing — which is what I go over in this Minisode. Hope you enjoy.

Man, do I have an interesting podcast for you guys today. There's a lengthy backstory about my guest today, which I've linked below, but I found Charles through the wildly successful comedy podcast Your Mom's House, hosted by famous comedians Tom Segura and Christina P.
I'm a regular listener of their podcast and when I came across Charles being playfully made fun of on their show, I laughed hysterically, but I also admired how well he handled the situation. Not only did he remain remarkably positive throughout the experience, he actually leveraged the hardcore fandom of the comedy podcast and gained 10,000+ followers overnight on Instagram by playing along.
All of that—in combination with his love for fitness, books, and personal development—I knew this real estate professional with a strong New Yorker accent would be perfect for my podcast. Needless to say, I was not disappointed. For those who know Charles already, I'll meet you Mommies at Lilies around, ahhhhhh 8 o'clock? For those who don't (and don't understand the last sentence), make sure you check the link below for the recap. ;) Enjoy!

The title I had before this one was "How To Build A Hyper-Focused Daily Routine". Then I thought to myself, "I think I'm pretty focused throughout the day, but 'hyper-focused' may be a stretch." So, here we are.
I'm definitely no expert in this subject, but I do have a few years of experience of working from home. And since that's the case, I don't have much "advice" to give so I might as well just elaborate on my personal anecdotes. I also enjoy reading about high performers (past and present) and their daily rituals, so I touch on that in this Minisode as well. If you work from home (even if it's only temporary), I think you'll get at least one helpful tip from this one. Hope you enjoy!
