Carmen got a call from an old friend over the weekend. Ron Hall, co-author of Same Kind of Different As Me, reached out to tell her that he has written a new book. It got us thinking about the favorite books we have held on to. 

Mohair held on to her phone long enough! She had an iPhone 7 and upgraded to an iPhone 17. She's also excited for Jury Duty and can't hold on much longer to see if the same bailiff will be working. 

We're holding our breath, gearing up for Sharathon and seeing if we can do something we've never done before. 

Paige Brown told a story in the first week of her Bible Study about a time she was trying to hold her son back from running into the street while a Presidential motorcade rolled by. 

Hold on! It takes how much light at night to negatively impact your heart health?! 

Dave's granddaughter, Emmie, celebrated a birthday yesterday and she looked very happy holding on to the shovel while helping out with the horses. 

Carmen got a squishy and a sweet note from 8-year-old Riley that she will be holding on to. 

While Carmen was driving yesterday, she saw a Waymo autonomous car drive by and rather than put her daughter on hold, she described the whole thing to her. 

Carmen can't hold on much longer. She took a detour on the way home yesterday to check the progress on her local Dutch Bros. build out.

There was a lot of football to catch over the weekend with Week 2 of college football and Week 1 of the NFL. But we needed to catch up on rest over the weekend first after hosting so many wonderful listeners at our Open House and to be ready for Sharathon which starts 1 week from today.

There was a lot of speculation ahead of yesterday's press conference for Apple to unveil their new product lineup. Here with the update on those new options is Carmen! And she's excited that its not just a foldable phone! 

We're inching closer to Sharathon 2026 and we wanted to share the reasons for it and a story to keep those new listeners up to date on the why! 

Even though we're excited for our new studios, we're a bit concerned as we had a lizard take up residence and Carmen wanted to know where they were coming from. But that's not as bad as what one listener walked into their office and found!

Dave's recent visit to the LSU campus had him appreciating the opportunity for the sake of nostalgia. 

With all the speculation ahead of Apple's press conference today, we're not sure if we'll appreciate and value the new product offerings. 

A Colorado woman was appreciative of the support she received when she shared on social media that she would be strapping on a pair of roller skates for the first time ever and invited people to come support her and more than 300 showed up! 

When it comes to the Midweek Praise Break, it is probably the most valued and certainly most appreciated part of The Morning Cruise for many listeners. This week we featured Phil Wickham's Battle Belongs, Same God by Elevation Worship and Jesus Paid It All by CeCe Winans and Tommee Profitt. 

We got a text this morning questioning why we talk about Sharathon leading up to it and Carmen pulled back the curtain to shed some light on our approach and maybe give you a greater appreciation for it as well. 

A curious scene unfolded on the roads below an I-20 bridge as one person's feet dangled in the wreckage of a car accident on the bridge. The victim was not seriously injured and was appreciative of the efforts of first responders. 

Dave's 4-year-old grandson has an appreciation for the arts, especially drawing. He drew a picture of Big Ben and it is certainly an indication that any future art pieces from him could be of value. 

What do you appreciate or value in someone that makes them attractive. Bill shared some possibilities.

Despite the downpour that delayed the start of the game, Dave had a great time with his son at the LSU game in Baton Rouge. 

It was a great Week 1 of College Football but there were a few notable mistakes. 

Carmen felt defeated when she got her daily yogurt and found that the recipe had changed. 

Bill told a story to help us understand how we, as Christians can beat evil with good. 

With Sharathon now less than 2 weeks away, Carmen wanted to giveaway a Mahjong set if we had gotten 100 best gifts by the end of the show. 

Bill is planning to officiate his son's wedding in Nevada. To do that, he had to take a class over the weekend. And now he's learned that there are more forms to fill out before it can be official. 

As today is International Literacy Day, Carmen wanted to celebrate reading. Especially after recently finishing one of her top 3 books ever with Theo Of Golden. We got your recommendations as well for some good books. 

Carmen shared the nightmarish dream of one of our coworkers that sent other coworkers to jail (not literally!)

Bill had a question about the pronunciation of a word. So he took it to AI. And then he took it to another AI to see if he could get a second opinion.

What a Friday it was on The Morning Cruise! 

Carmen is excited as it is week 1 of College Football. Dave's going to Louisiana to see his LSU Tigers in action. Bill, who isn't into sports, is thinking about movies, which did not interest Carmen. 

Dave hasn't even left for Louisiana for the long weekend and he's already got another trip booked. 

Since Sharathon starts on the 21st of September, Carmen couldn't stop thinking about Tauren Wells version of the Earth, Wind, & Fire song. 

Bill shared the details of a study involving soiled underwear. 

After we got ourselves together from that conversation, he shared the story of Wendell Berry. 

Carmen wanted to know if Starbucks changed the recipe for their Dirty Chai Latte and she had a Pumpkin Spice Creamer recipe to share as well. 

Dave told us about a guy who had what he thought to be a Civil War replica as desk decor but it turned out to be a live round! 

And with Labor Day upon us this weekend, it marks the end of summer. Carmen asked about our highlights of the summer.
