It's the first day of school for many in Florida today and we wanted to make sure they were starting out the year with a little prayer. 

What are the attractive interests that make a man stand out? Carmen shared the results of a study and we're not sure if Dave or Bill is more attractive! 

Bill had his eyes on 2025 Scrabble Players Championship and he wanted to play a little game with Dave and Carmen to start out the week. 

NFL Preseason action started this past weekend. We shared some of the hightights and lowlights from the games. 

When Dave started out his trip to the grocery store he didn't plan on Red Beans and Rice but that's what he ended up making. If only he had brought some in for everyone to try! Instead he brought leftover pizza. 

That led to a conversation that started out talking about the need for fungus in your bread but it quickly took a detour to a video from Lauren Alaina that stood out to Carmen. 

Who is the most spiritually significant man in American history? Josh Howerton makes the case for a man who did not stand out in the crowd but got 2 men started on their faith walk that impacted millions. 

One woman went viral after she attempted to attend an event for the "anti-lonliness club" only to find out that she was the only one in attendance. Her story stood out and went viral and she's now making lemonade from that lemon. 

HR meetings happen for all sorts of reasons. But the reason for one meeting stood out when we learned one employee was upset because they were not invited to the wedding of a coworker. As we shared that story, we heard from Georgia who is actually getting married at work today (What a way to start the week and a life together!) and she says everyone who wants to come is invited! 

Now that school is back in session, we're excited as we've heard from many of you today. Unfortunately, as we continue to make the new building our home, we've started without having our phones fully set up yet.

If you record the amount of minutes you go for a walk, you might be surprised by the benefits there are, not just physically but for your brain as well. 

A man made an impressive swim in an effort to defect from North Korea. We're not sure if it is a record but Bill has the info on a record bike ride. And just the other day, it was the anniversary of a record-setting swim across the English Channel. 

Dave loves to use the TimeHop app to keep a record of his memories. He shared a few recent memories that popped up and we were reminded of a time that Carmen tried to convince Chris Tomlin to go to lunch at a Pan-Asian restaurant. 

Carmen tried to log back in to her TimeHop to see her memories that have been recorded but it seems as though she's been locked out. 

Carmen wanted Haley to join the show to get an opportunity to roast Dave and Bill on record, but the tables were turned quickly when Carmen got the roasting. But Haley didn't pass up the chance to roast the guys, especially Dave about his slow moving process. 

A first-edition of The Hobbit by J.R.R.Tolkien recently went to auction. But was the price tag one for the record books?

We're about to see a lot of effort put forth on the football field as several teams will suit up tonight in pre-season action. 

If you're like Carmen and it has felt like a heavy week with all that is going on, she's got a reminder for you from Romans 8. 

As we continue to build our new home, we watched the laborious process of our sign getting installed yesterday. 

It was announced earlier this week that there are plans to have a nuclear reactor installed on the moon which is certainly no mean feat. 

Even with a broken back, Forrest Frank pulled off quite the miraculous feat with 2 new songs and a healed spine! 

The social media giant that is Instagram announced a new feature with a map to track friends. If that feels like too much, we shared how you can change the settings as well as pause content for awhile. 

Finding someone to try this new smoothie offering might prove to be no mean feat. 

Bill told us about a couple of impressive feats including a man who defected from North Korea by swimming for 10+ hours and a record bike ride. 

That reminded Dave of a story he saw the other day celebrating the 99th anniversary of the first woman to swim the English Channel.

Dave had a tough time getting going this morning and had to move some vehicles around just to get to work. His story reminded Carmen of the car shuffling that often happened when her daughters lived at home and all 4 in the family had a vehicle. 

Bill was moved to pray for Christians in Israel and Palestine. As he did that, we heard from another listener whose husband is helping to move food into the region. 

WIth our big move, we've run into all sorts of issues. 

Get on the move and go for a walk. Turns out there are benefits, minute by minute. 

If you don't feel like moving, you could by a home on Amazon and have it delivered to you as one YouTuber recently did. The price tag for that Amazon home was simliar to the price tag that Bill's childhood home was when they moved into it, but now, that price tag is in the millions. 

The spirit is certainly on the move through the songs in our Midweek Praise Break which included Agnus Dei, Mighty Name of Jesus, and Graves Into Gardens. 

Jayar was moving pretty quickly through the building when he got the reluctant go ahead from Carmen to bring a scooter into the building. He took viewers on a tour of the new building for Instagram.

Talking about that prompted one listener to send us a video of kids wiping out on scooters. With kids of all ages on the move throughout our building, it may be a good idea to install some safety measures.

When Carmen's got a technical problem, her way to fix it is to ask you, our "JOY FM Genius Bar" for help. She did that this morning with a question about her devices and FaceTime. 

As students and teachers go back to school, Bill has some ideas to help you with the ways to go towards a successful school year. 

In that discussion, Bill shared that he points his keys in the direction of the fridge to help him remember to grab his food as he heads out for the day. That prompted Carmen to ask if anyone else does that. 

If you want to see what your appliances look like along with Ikea furniture, make your way to Best Buy now that the 2 stores have partnered together. 

Carmen took the opportunity to say "Way To Go!" to handymen for all the work they put in. 

Carmen also was very thankful for the work of the medical staff that tended to her husband last week but she did have some moments of doubt. As she shared that, Bill pointed to 1 Corinthians 2:9.

We're back to business for the first full week in our new home. And for many teachers and students in our listening areas, it is back to school time as well. 

Hitch is back from vacation and getting used to his new space. Over the weekend, Carmen had some help getting some things ready for others in the office to have their first day in the new building as well. And she's a bit concerned that it will not be business in usual after an earthquake impacted NYC over the weekend and she'll be traveling there soon. 

The business of radio was the focus of the sitcom, WKRP in Cincinnati. One of the show's stars, Loni Anderson, passed away over the weekend. 

As students get ready to go back to school, Bill has some insight into how technology might impact their school lunches. 

A couple of weeks ago, Forrest Frank, broke his back while skateboarding in the driveway. While he was laid up, he wrote a song, appropriately titled "God's Got My Back". And he collaborated with a duo known as The Figs on a song called "Lemonade". Miraculously, he woke up over the weekend and his back was healed!

Paula Deen made a tough business decision and announced that she was shutting down both of her restaurants in Savannah. 

A couple was minding their own business while on vacation in Greece, completely oblivous to the camera they were standing in front of that was filming a picturesque proposal.
