  • The rise in COVID 19 cases, do we close down again? Should Nancy apologize?
Young people are more likely to have milder outcomes from coronavirus, but they can still infect others who are more at risk. "With younger age of recent infections in at least some places such as Florida, expect a lower death rate in this wave ... until the 20-40-year-olds who are infected today go on to infect others," Dr. Tom Frieden, former director of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

  • ML & Kennedy chop it up on current events
K-pop stans, teens on TikTok may have inflated expected turnout to Tulsa rally> His weekend in Oklahoma highlighted growing vulnerabilities and crystallized a divisive reelection message that largely ignores broad swaths of voters — independents, suburban women, and people of color — who could play a crucial role in choosing Trump or Democratic challenger Joe Biden. The lower-than-expected turnout at the comeback rally, in particular, left Trump fuming. “There’s really only one strategy left for him, and that is to propel that rage and anger and try to split the society and see if he can have a tribal leadership win here,”

  • Supreme Court decisions, white privilege or white blessings? Juneteeth Holiday?
According to the Daily Kos: The SCOTUS ruled the Trump administration can't move forward with shutting down the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, the Obama program under which hundreds of thousands of immigrant young people have been allowed to stay in the U.S. legally. The court ruled that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) acted arbitrarily and capriciously in trying to rescind the program.  Atlanta megachurch pastor Louie Giglio gave the obligatory apology Tuesday after attempting to repackage the phrase "white privilege" as a "white blessing" during a talk about race and religion. “We understand the curse that was slavery, white people do,” “And we say that was bad. But we miss the blessing of slavery, that it actually built up the framework for the world that white people live in.” As President Trump’s National Security Advisor, John Bolton spent many of his 453 days in the room where it happened, and the facts speak for themselves. The result is a White House memoir that is the most comprehensive and substantial account of the Trump Administration, and one of the few to date by a top-level official.  The Tulsa race massacre (also called the Tulsa race riot, the Greenwood Massacre, or the Black Wall Street Massacre) of 1921 took place on May 31 and June 1, 1921, when mobs of white residents attacked black residents and businesses of the Greenwood District in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

  • 45th signs exec.order on policing, It's time to eradicate racism NOW!
The 45th signed an executive order Tuesday aimed at reforming police practices in America after a series of high-profile police killings sparked nationwide protests and riots. The order, titled, "Safe Policing for Safe Communities," acknowledges instances of police abuse and brutality and the negative impact that has had on community relationships with police. It establishes a national certification and credentialing system for law enforcement agencies; creates a federal database to track officers credibly accused of wrongdoing; discourages the use of chokeholds unless an officer's life is in danger; and encourages Congress to pass further police reforms. After years of civil rights activists calling for the removal of Confederate monuments, they're falling like dominoes amid nationwide protests in the wake of George Floyd's death in police custody. On Monday evening, the University of Alabama announced that it will remove three plaques dedicated to Confederate soldiers who attended the school. The plaques will be placed in an "a more appropriate historical," setting, according to the school.

  • Dr. ML & Mr. Kennedy on ALLBLM march, child peppered by police, Rally in Tulsa?
Standing among a group of peaceful anti-racism protesters in downtown Seattle on a recent Saturday afternoon, Mando Avery held his seven-year-old son’s hand as he and three generations of his African American family finished a prayer with members of their church.  feet away, Evan Hreha, 34, a hairstylist, arrived at the protests alone. That was when, Avery said, out of nowhere, a police officer fired mace at the group. It hit his son square in the face. As the young boy screamed and clutched on to his father, Hreha caught it all on camera. He confronted the officer he believed had maced the boy and told him the footage was going online. He then posted it on social media. The footage captures the outrage of protesters after the boy is maced who demand to know why police sprayed a child with the chemical irritant and made no attempt to help. Since then, Hreha has been arrested and spent two days in jail for what some are calling police retribution for a video that went viral.
