The Mountain Mysteries

We remember who we lost, and focus on those we have, and love, and an eternal focus on our savior.

Merry Christmas from all of us to all of you.

All music used with license.

Kate Morgan lived an ordinary and rather unremarkable life by most accounts. Her death, however, has captured the attention of many for that past 125 years.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

It was October 26th, 1961 when Betty Gail Brown, a student at Transylvania University, (Transy) was found murdered, strangled to death with her own bra. It wasn't rape, as a matter of fact, there was no motive that could be found.

The brief audio clip is from an interview that is linked below, it's outstanding and highly recommended if your interested in this case. It was conducted by Bill Goodman.

Those bright lights of stardom, the dreams and hopes that come with us when we’re young are the things worth fighting for, they’re the heights that we aspire to rise to and conquer, something that drives many people to get out of bed in the morning. But sometimes, many in fact, life can throw you one of those curve balls that you didn’t see coming, and those dreams fade like the dusk at dawn, and leave us with those fleeting moments that are the, woulda coulda, shoulda.

Too many of those.

When what we think is love that comes knocking, it’s all too often that we believe that we can’t help who we fall in love with, even if it’s not especially good for those dreams we had, even if it means the death of those dreams, or worse… death for us.

Oh, but remember that not all is as it seems at first glance, that’s another thing, the magic of life can be just that, a mere illusion that is not to be conquered easily, it takes time. If you have it, that can be another illusion. These are The Mountain Mysteries, and this is episode number 35, The Night of Nights, The Mountain Mystery of Jessica Lyn Keen.

In this episode, we examine a notorious serial killer by the name of Danny Rolling, who wrecked havoc in Gainesville Florida. We also take a look at whether or not, as rumor may suggest, the Rolling was the inspiration for an at the time, struggling actor / writer, Kevin Williamson to write the screen play that would eventually become the 1996 horror film, "SCREAM", which went on to sequels and acclaim world wide for its tongue in cheek portrayal of the horror genre. Make sure to listen in to The Mountain Mysteries CHILLS airing for you, our patreon subscribers each Monday, and join us live Thursday's at 8pm for The Mountain Mysteries Gatherings.

This episode is dedicated to a friend gone too soon. Oliver Little, FCSO 212.

Is the 2001 horror film, Jeepers Creepers based in some kind of true story? You decide as we delve into the world and Dennis DePue and the slickening murder he committed against the mother of his own children. Many say he was abusive and callous as well as disconnected from reality and semblance of compassion and love.

After the episode, we pay tribute to a good man, outstanding LEO, and a great friend.
