The Movie Connection

It's time...to wrap up our Summer of Sequels with the third film in the Cinderella Saga: it's "Cinderella 3: A Twist in Time" in which, Lady Tremaine, Cinderella's evil stepmother, acquires the Fairy Godmother's wand and uses it, naturally, to bend the fabric of time to her will and wreak havock on her least favorite step-daughters life. Lots of twists and turns in this one including a human version of Lucifer the cat, a pumpkin carriage chase and one of the shortest Disney songs ever!We hope you have enjoyed this summer of sequels and will join us for the Pirates of the Caribbean movies starting next week as well as some Back to School bonus episodes!Email us any questions, comments or ideas for future episodes:[email protected] us on InstagramListen to us on Spotify or wherever you listen to podcasts

The podcast gets a new groove in honor of today's movie:"Kronk's New Groove" The sequel to the energetic Disney animated feature starring David Spade. This movie contains just as much energy and crazy humor as the original and finds a charming character the lovable oaf, Kronk, but it also seems to use a familiar Disney Animated Sequel format by stringing together three distinct stories into one "narrative." But it is still fun from beginning to end. Kronk has to prepare for the arrival of his judgmental father and comes to terms with what his father expects to what appeals to his heart. Email us your questions, comments and ideas for future [email protected] us on InstagramListen to us on Spotify or wherever you listen to podcasts.Join us for our final Disney Animated Sequel "Cinderella III: A Twist in Time"

Join Jacob and KC as they return to the ancient world of China, to witness the awesome might and sheer badassery that is the Hero of China HERrself, Mulan! For the sequel, simply titled "Mulan II," we see the relationship between Shang and Mulan hit a few speed-bumps, most of them caused by the surprise villain of the movie: MUSHU! Who is up to no good trying to secure his cushy place on a pedestal. Along for the ride are the three buffoonish but lovable misogynistic soldiers: Yao, Ling and Chin-Po who are responsible for guarding three lovely princesses to a nearby Kingdom. The soundtrack is pretty great, and it would have to be, being based on the hit film that gave us songs like "A Girl Worth Fighting For" and "Be a Man." Oh, and if you were wondering if this movie touches on the gender politics of the first movie....Just listen to find out. If you have questions or comments, please send them our way [email protected] can follow us on InstagramListen to us on Spotify or wherever you listen to podcastsJoin us next week for our review of "Kronk's New Groove."

While we find ourselves nearing the end of our Summer of Sequels, we have really been craving the outdoors, so what better way to have an appreciation for the world outside than by visiting one of the countries oldest national parks: Yellowstone. The movie is "Meet the Deedles" starring Paul Walker, before he got fast and furious. The movie follows brothers Phil and Stu, a couple of...surfers? Hipsters? Morons? We couldn't really decide. The brothers are tasked with attending camp by their father as a way to build character. What follows is a series of highjinks that include prairie dogs, gummy worms, Freddy Krueger and Ol' Faithful herself!Hope you enjoy this wild ride with us and will tune in on Saturday for a new Disney movie review...Send us an email with any questions or ideas for future episodes: [email protected] to us on Spotify or wherever you listen to podcastsfollow us on Instagram

Reaching the end of our Summer of Sequels, we are revisiting our favorite lovable but deadly alien companion in "Stitch! The Movie." We are all very aware of Experiment 626, better known as Stitch, but we never considered that there are 625 OTHER experiments out there. Each with their own set of deadly capabilities. The theme of ohana and finding ones place in the world are alive and well in this pilot episode of what would become the Lilo and Stitch animated series. Enjoy the gross yet adorable addition to the Disney Animated Sequels. Email us some of your thoughts, questions or ideas for future episodes:[email protected] Follow us on Instagram Listen to us on Spotify or wherever you listen to podcasts. Tune in for next weeks episode in our Summer of Sequels: Mulan II

We return to the world of Ben Gates in this special commentary track for "National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets."On our last adventure, Nicolas Cage was flexing his intellectual muscles as historian and treasure-hunter Ben gates. This time around...they are pretty much hunting the same treasure, but instead of going toe-to-toe with Blonde Sean Bean, they are throwing down with Ol' Ed Harris. Fun stunts and even more unCaged moments to be enjoyed in this one.  email us your questions, comments or ideas for future [email protected] Listen to us on Spotify Follow us on Instagram Tune in on Saturday for our latest in the Summer of Sequels: "Stitch! We are back with another Disney Animated Sequel to 101 Dalmations: "Patch's London Adventure." The story centers on Patch, one of the 101 Dalmations, and follows him on his journey to individuality, which is no easy task in a family THIS big. Also back to terrorize all puppies is the infamous Cruella De Vil, who, some could argue is even MORE crazy than in the original. You may recognize many of these voices from previous Disney Sequels and there is also a welcome celebrity voice: Martin Short! We hope you enjoy this adorable and heartwarming film. Send us an email with feedback or ideas for future [email protected] Follow us on Instagram Listen to us on Spotify or wherever you listen to podcasts.... Join us next week as we hit the home stretch during our Summer of Sequels.

Join us as we continue our Summer of sequels with "Cinderella 2: Dreams Come True." We were soaring high from our experience with the enjoyable, yet dark revisiting of "Return to Neverland," we had high hopes that this installment of the Disney Animated Sequels would be just as good...boy were we wrong. We join Cinderella and her gang of miniature animal companions as they move in to the castle with Prince Charming himself (turns out his name is technically "Henry," but we'll stick with Charming.) and experience what comes AFTER "Happily Ever After." What follows is a series of three condensed stories with varying levels of quality.  Send us an email with comments, questions and suggestions for future episodes:[email protected] Follow us on Instagram Listen on Spotify or wherever you listen to podcasts And join us next week for another Disney Animated Sequel!

We are back with our two-part b-b-b-bonus episode covering the second act in the outstanding broadway musical "Hamilton." In act one we got a feel for the ambitions of Alexander Hamilton and his temperamental opposite, Aaron Burr. With Act Two, we are offered a larger than life Thomas Jefferson and a less than healthy James Madison. We follow Hamilton as his pride gets the better of him, like many powerful figures, and bear witness to his ultimate fate. It was such a pleasure to enjoy the rich broadway environment and nobody can deny the power of this cast. Hope you enjoyed the musical as much as we did. Send us an email with thoughts, comments and questions: [email protected] will be back on track with our Summer of Sequels soon.
