  • What's In a Name?

When William Shakespeare wrote the line, "What's in a name?" he had no idea how important that question would become. Today Kris and Kym talk about unusual baby names, with some of today's celebrity offspring making up the bulk of the list. But if you think only celebrities have the market on weird monikers, you'd be wrong. North or Apple or Doone is tame compared to some of the names that people have slapped onto a birth certificate in recent years. Seems like everyone wants their kid to be unique, and apparently for some parents the first step is in the naming process.

  • Call Me Korgia

Today is all about hardcore fangirling. On January 11, 2019, Kris and Kym got to meet Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark of the mega-popular podcast My Favorite Murder. Today's episode pays true tribute to the MFM ladies by first recounting the meet and greet highlights and then telling stories of creep, horror, murder, and plague from Hungary and Scotland. Kym recounts the bloody history of the most prolific female serial killer, Countess Elizabeth Bathory, of Slovakia. Kris talks about going underground in Edinburgh, walking the halls of the enclosed Mary King's Close where many people lived and worked in darkness...and almost half of the population died of the plague in the 1600s.

  • 31 Days of Feastember

Christmas holidays not your jam? Got you down? You a modern day Scrooge? Well fear not because Kris and Kym give you 31 days of all the things you can do during the month of December that have little or nothing to do with Christmas! From December 1st through the 31st, there's a thing to celebrate every day. You like socks? There's a day for that. Red apple eater? Yep (sorry green apple fans). Weary Willie? There's a day set aside for that. Don't ask. We know nothing. So one way or another you've got something to smile about in December. And most of it has something to do with eating food.

  • Worst Gift Ever?

Remember that one morning long ago (or maybe last year) you woke up KNOWING you were getting the best gift ever? The one you told everyone you wanted and then waited for what seemed forever but the day finally came and you just knew as you pulled ribbon and ripped paper you were seconds away from the most epic present in the whole entire world which actually turned out to be a box of collectible carved toothpicks from Weird Uncle Vern? Mmhmm. To be fair not all "worst gifts" are actually horrible, maybe it's just the timing, or the lack of usefulness or it's just so bad it's hilarious. How did you handle your worst gift? Laugh? Cry? Throw it across the room? Did you exchange, or regift it? Or maybe it became your newest closet rock. Never fear. Before the pain of these memories bring you too far down, Kym shares another childhood stunt that makes all the other stories pale in comparison. So far.

  • Black Friday Hangover

Kris and Kym talk about the lengths people will go to to save a buck buying loads of stuff the day after being so grateful for all the stuff they already have. Yep, it's the episode about the day after Thanksgiving in America – a strange retail phenomenon called Black Friday where people sleep in tents and stand in lines for hours in front of stores waiting for them to open at unnatural hours, and employees who (literally) run for their lives after unlocking the doors to let those people inside. We also touch on theft schemes in stores, and those dingdongs who steal packages from people's doorsteps. Boy do we have an idea or two about how to deal with THOSE people. If you've got a retail shopping hangover, we've got the cure!
