Today Kris and Kym talk about fact-checking their stories and follow up last week's discussion about Coco Chanel and Jane Fonda, discuss some current women (and one young woman) who are making a difference in today's world, and then rant and rave about the college bribing scandal. We round it out very nicely with some facts about St. Patrick's Day, since of course, that was just a couple days ago and it has nothing at all to do with the rest of the episode! Today Kris and Kym discuss the values which make up International Women's Day, the history behind it, and some badass women who have made a huge difference in how we live our lives today because of their actions. And then get into the weeds with TNT's limited series "I Am The Night" which has a twist on the Black Dahlia murder. Um, just ignore the whining about celebrity podcasts with built-in listeners. Unlike our coffee, we really are not THAT bitter. 

Today Kris and Kym celebrate National Tell a Fairytale Day discussing all things fairytale related (and some serious rant detours, but what else is new), including how the Grimm tales came to be, the oldest known fairytale, the "Disneyfication" of otherwise morbid tales, how the expectation of "happily ever after" has shaped today's society, and some of the likely true-life inspirations behind famous stories. Let's just say kids these days don't realize how good they have it. 

This week Kym and Kris celebrate National Random Acts of Kindness Day, discussing all the wonderful ways people can add positivity to the lives of friends, family, coworkers and strangers. Kindness is free and takes very little effort: it could be an uplifting note to a coworker, returning a shopping cart for someone, smiling at a stranger, telling someone they're doing a good job, or just opening a door for someone. And those are just the tip of the niceberg! 

This is the week of lovely LOVE! Saint Valentine's Day is here and yes Kris and Kym have stories of love and how to avoid Singleness Awareness, but there are also a ton of tidbits like the dark origins of the day, how Shakespeare incorporated it into some of his most famous works, and the astounding numbers associated with this holy day of the feels. Kris and Kym tackle their relationship with the magic kingdom in Anaheim, CA. Whether reminiscing about lazing along the river on a paddle boat, having a major crowd-induced panic attack on Main Street, or standing in a 2-hour line for a 3 minute ride, there is PAAAH-LENTY to discuss about their favorite theme-park they hate to love: Disneyland. When William Shakespeare wrote the line, "What's in a name?" he had no idea how important that question would become. Today Kris and Kym talk about unusual baby names, with some of today's celebrity offspring making up the bulk of the list. But if you think only celebrities have the market on weird monikers, you'd be wrong. North or Apple or Doone is tame compared to some of the names that people have slapped onto a birth certificate in recent years. Seems like everyone wants their kid to be unique, and apparently for some parents the first step is in the naming process. 

Today is all about hardcore fangirling. On January 11, 2019, Kris and Kym got to meet Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark of the mega-popular podcast My Favorite Murder. Today's episode pays true tribute to the MFM ladies by first recounting the meet and greet highlights and then telling stories of creep, horror, murder, and plague from Hungary and Scotland. Kym recounts the bloody history of the most prolific female serial killer, Countess Elizabeth Bathory, of Slovakia. Kris talks about going underground in Edinburgh, walking the halls of the enclosed Mary King's Close where many people lived and worked in darkness...and almost half of the population died of the plague in the 1600s.
