We take a look back at his long journey and hear about what he has learned over the years. Coach Culpepper is known for his loud manner on the bench, and tells us how that unique style came to be.

This special episode looks back on the life of David Eccleston, a well rounded student and star basketball player at New Berlin Central School (now Unadilla Valley). David was tragically killed at just 17 years old during the start of his senior year in 1992. This feature aims to highlight the positive aspects of David's life including his love for the game of basketball.

Nate sits down with legendary Gilbertsville and G-MU Boys Basketball Coach, Dean Veenhof. He takes us back to his high school playing days in Minnesota. Dean tells us his "Hoosiers" type story of a small school, undefeated basketball team that won a state title in 1960. From there Coach V talks about how he ended up in upstate New York. We discuss his 28 year coaching career and learn about the various Section IV and NYSPHSAA committees that he served on over the years.

Nate welcomes Schenevus soccer star, Angelina Competiello to the podcast. Ang is a sophomore phenom for the Dragons and has been named to the all-state team in both 8th and 9th grade. With over 60 career goals she is already on pace to set many school and league records. She talks about her love for the game and what it's like to play year round. Ang tore her ACL in 7th grade and tells us about the hard work it took to recover from that. Go inside the mind of one of the best soccer players in the area.

Nate catches up with 2016 Edmeston alumna, Sydney Smith. Syd was a 2-sport standout in basketball and softball for the Panthers. She helped lead ECS to 4 straight TVL titles in softball (they would go on to win a 5th after she graduated). She tells us about her college decision to attend Cazenovia where she played 4 years of basketball and became the team captain. Syd is also passionate about sports photography and talks about how she used her skills to land her first sports job in Virginia Beach. 

Nate chats with Downsville Soccer standout, Zelda Adams. Although she plays sports at Downsville, Zelda actually goes to school in Roscoe and is a junior this year. She tells us what it's like to balance life between two schools and how much she enjoys it. Zelda is an all-state performer in soccer, and they look back on her team's magical run to the S4 title in 2018. They also dive into her family's business of making movies. Acting, directing, editing, writing... they can do it all. An interesting look into a very creative person! 

Nate catches up with 2015 B-G grad, Adam Bauerle. Adam was a 3-sport athlete for the Bobcats and helped lead them to a MAC Soccer championship in his senior year. He was also an outstanding track athlete. He is now a Mechanical Engineer at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine. The guys talk about his job, high school sports, the transition to college and adulthood, and so much more. A very relaxed and funny episode!

Nate welcomes Norwich Athletic Coordinator, Rich Turnbull to the podcast. Rich is a longtime teacher and coach at NHS who recently took the AC job. He talks about his experience with handling the challenges in high school sports since the start of COVID-19. They look back on his coaching career and how he ended up taking his job at Norwich. Rich is originally from Edmeston and he tells us about his sports playing days at ECS.

Nate brings on legendary Sidney Coach, Mike Brazee. He talks about his 30+ year career at SCS where he coached a variety of sports including golf, boys basketball and softball. Hear about his two state championship basketball teams including the 1998 squad which earned the nickname "The University of Sidney" for their size and dominating play on the floor. A must listen for any true Warriors fan!

Nate welcomes longtime Harpursville Girls Basketball Coach, Kurt Ehrensbeck to the podcast. They look back on the building of a very successful program including 3 trips to the state final four in 2011, 2013 and 2014. Kurt also talks about his involvement with BCANY and the state basketball committee. Coach E is a music teacher at HCS and tells us what it's like at school this fall with the new health guidelines.
