Nate connects with Harpursville junior Saleen Medovich for today’s episode. Saleen plays basketball and softball for the Hornets. She shares her story about being diagnosed with thyroid cancer at age 16. Saleen tells us about how her positive attitude has helped her through tough times. Despite a sports career filled with tough injuries, she has still had a huge impact on the HCS athletic program. 

Nate chats with Oneonta senior Graham Wooden. They discuss his recent commitment to D2 Mansfield to play basketball and study to be a physician assistant. Graham tells us about his career playing for Coach Jerry Mackey and what he hopes his legacy will be at OHS. He also talks about his special relationship with teammate Teddy McGraw. Finally, Graham shares that he comes from a talented family of musicians and gives us details about that part of his life. 

Nate chats with Cooperstown basketball star Piper Seamon. She tells us how hard it was to have Coop’s trip to states cut short because of COVID-19. They talk about her reaching 1,000 points this year and why she chose Hamilton for college next year. They also mix in some soccer and softball stories, and we learn about Piper’s major involvement with the Leadership Training for Athletes program.

Nate catches up with Cooperstown’s Matt Hazzard. He is an assistant for the varsity baseball team and spent many years as an assistant with the boys and girls varsity basketball teams. They discuss the recent success of the Hawkeyes baseball program and his hope to bring the state tournament to our area. Matt also tells us about his battle overcoming cancer and how sports helped him through that tough time.

Nate chats with Unadilla Valley senior Meegan White. She is a 3-sport athlete for the Storm and is one of the best soccer goalies in the area. They dive into details on her recent full scholarship offer to Niagara University through Army ROTC. Meegan, who is openly gay shares her experience of coming out and how that's impacted her on and off the field. They also look back on her best sports memories. An episode you don't want to miss!

Nate catches up with Whitney Point alumna Leanne Bough. She is currently playing D1 Field Hockey at Ohio State and was recently named to the USA U-21 National Team. Leanne helped WP win 5 straight state titles and was the 2019 NYS Player of the Year. They discuss her time so far at OSU, why Section 4 is so strong at field hockey and her memories from a historic career for the Point. 

Nate interviews Dr. Robert Zayas who is the Executive Director of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association. They discuss the most up-to-date information regarding the spring sports season due to the current COVID-19 shutdown. Dr. Zayas also talks about the cancellation of the winter championships and what future plans the state has to help athletes and schools get back on track when sports return to a normal schedule.

Nate is joined by South Kortright alumna Tori Rockefeller. Tori just finished up a very successful basketball career at SUNY Morrisville. She is now the all-time leading scorer in school history for the Mustangs with 1,571 points. They talk about her college career as well as look back on her very successful time at SK. Off the court we learn about Tori's sneaker obsession, her small town memories and her many trips to Dunkin'

Nate brings on the famous Miranda Drummond for this episode. Miranda is a Harpursville grad who went on to play D1 college basketball at St. Bonaventure followed by Syracuse University. She just wrapped up her first season of playing professionally in Greece. They talk about basketball, life overseas, coffee, cats, playing for Coach Q and much more.

Nate catches up with Delhi grad and current Ithaca College Track & Field standout Logan Bruce. Logan discusses her amazing success in college track and what made her decide to attend IC. They also go back in time and reminisce about Logan's high school career including winning 2 state championships. She tells us about her strong bond with her Dad (Delhi basketball coach Todd Bruce) as well as the rest of her very athletic family.
