Nate is back from vacation and sits down with rising Unatego senior, Dana Stepp. Dana was a 1st Team All-State selection last fall after helping the Spartans to the NYS Class-C Girls Soccer championship game. Dana tells us about her favorite memories from the season and how close she is with Coach Sue Herodes. We also discuss her basketball career including an exciting announcement for this upcoming year.

Nate welcomes Greg Bonczkowski to the podcast. Greg is the athletic director at G-MU. He also coaches 3 sports for the Raiders. They take a look back at Greg's basketball playing days at Hartwick College. Next is a trip through Greg's various local coaching stops including some very successful years with the Unatego girls basketball program. They discuss options for sports next year and what things might look like locally due to COVID-19.

Nate interviews Kayla and Marissa Campbell from Franklin. These rising Juniors have already been a headache for opposing coaches in the area for several years. They are both standouts in soccer, basketball and softball for the Purple Devils. You'll get to know these twin sisters better, learn about several of their favorite sports memories and hear about Kayla joining the 1,000 career point club in basketball this past year.

Nate talks with longtime Unatego Girls Soccer Coach, Sue Herodes. They look back at the success of the Spartans program since she took the job 30 years ago. Coach Herodes gives us her detailed thoughts on the 2019 team that made history by making it to the state finals. They discuss her playing days and how she ended up finding a home at Unatego CSD. Nate talks with Cooperstown father and son duo, David and Tyler Bertram. David fills us in on his recent decision to leave his position as athletic director at CCS and take a similiar job at Mohonasen Central School in Section II. Since his last appearance on the podcast, Tyler made the choice to transfer to play basketball at Binghamton University. He tells us about why he picked BU. All that and much more on this episode!

Nate brings on his first wrestling guest as he chats with Norwich’s Mikey Squires. He went 173-28 in his high school career and is a 4-time place winner at the state tournament, including two 2nd place finishes. He was the 2020 Valedictorian for NHS and will be studying and wrestling at Princeton this fall. A remarkable and driven young man!

Nate catches up with Unadilla Valley athletic director and longtime coach, Matt Osborne. He gives us his thoughts on how the MAC league is trying to handle the COVID-19 situation and what next year might look like. They look back on Matt's playing days and he tells us how he got his current job with the Storm. Coach Osborne also fills us in on the progress of the construction project on the fields at UV.

Nate sits down for a long chat with B-G Girls Basketball Coach, Bob Conway. They do an extensive look back on his entire coaching career from his early days at Mt. Upton to his current job with the Bobcats. Coach Conway talks about former players, teams, big playoff games, runs to the state tournament and so much more. Coach Mackey tells us about his playing career and how he got into coaching and teaching. The guys discuss several OHS teams and athletes and look back on the Oneonta Girls Soccer state championship in 2013.

Nate catches up with longtime South Kortright Coach, Bob VanValkenburgh. Coach Van is one of the most respected coaches and athletic directors in the area. They look back on his early days at Kortright and learn about how he got the job at SK. They also talk about some of the most successful teams he has had, including his state championship boys basketball team in 2009.
