The Unite Behind coalition yesterday marched to the offices of the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) demanding they probe alleged corruption at the Passenger Rail Agency of SA (Prasa) and those implicated in it.They also demanded Shamila Batohi, newly-elected head of the NPA, urgently arrange a meeting with Unite Behind and the Prasa board to get a more complete idea of who to prosecute for state capture at Prasa.

ANC spokesperson, Zizi Kodwa, has asked to be relieved of his duties while an investigations of rape allegations continue. The party's NWC has agreed to the request but says Kodwa remains an NEC member. At the weekend - reports surfaced that Kodwa had allegedly raped a woman last year and offered to pay her off. The party was notified of the allegation and they advised the woman to file a criminal complaint with law enforcement. Kodwa denies the allegations and labelled it "dirty tricks". Pule Mabe - another spokesperson has requested more time away from his job after the party cleared him of sexual harassment allegations last week. Yesterday at a briefing with Justice Minister Michael Masutha, Health Minister Dr Aaron Motsoaledi said that a group of lawyers has been milking the state of millions of rands in alleged fake medical negligence claims for cerebral palsy cases. He went on to say that this is the tip of the iceberg in which money is being exploited from the state.

This time around reports indicate that over 300 workers at Stutterheim based in Amahlathi Local Municipality in the Eastern Cape haven’t received their salaries as the municipality is bankrupt. This they say is due to the municipality being unable to generate income due to five months of protests.
