The campaign to vaccinate about two hundred thousand South African police officers for COVID-19 kicked off today at the Orlando Stadium, in Soweto, south west of Johannesburg. The police force's medical scheme Polmed, aims to complete this process by the 11th of August. The scheme is currently providing health insurance to about 80 percent of the country's police force. The National Prosecuting Authority Investigative Directorate has intensified its efforts to extradite the Gupta family. It has confirmed that the International Criminal Police Organisation Interpol has issued red notices against Atul and Rajesh Gupta as well as their wives. The controversial businessmen and associates are wanted in connection with the Free State Agriculture Department's alleged fraud in the procurement a 24-point-nine-million-rand tender. Gupta associate and former Transnet board member Iqbal Sharma is in custody after being denied bail last month.
