  • What is Truth?
Many people in todays world think that truth is relative to the circumstances—that what is true for one situation is not necessarily true for others. This means that truth for one person is not necessarily the same for everyone! If this is correct, how can we know with certainty what to believe and how we should live?
This begs the question, IS there even a way to live that should be sought after?
Should all people strive towards an objective standard or is everyone free to live as they feel?
Is Morality something that can be defined by oneself or is there an external standard that individuals will be held accountable to?
Almost 2,000 years ago, a Roman governor named Pontius Pilate asked a wrongly accused prisoner who stood before him, “What is truth?”. The prisoner was Jesus of Nazareth (John 18:37-38). There is no record of Jesus answering Pilate on that particular occasion, but Jesus did answer answer that question in many places in the Scriptures. Two very explicit examples are found in the Gospel according to John:
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)
“Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.” (John 17:17)
In referencing the truth, Winston Churchill once stated, “Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing had happened.”
Todays Podcast is a deep dive into the topic of Truth.

  • Worship | The Purpose of Your Life

We all seek purpose and worth as the motivation for what we do. We seek to elevate something with our lives (usually ourselves)! Are you seeking purpose through a meaningful career? Are you seeking to feel worthy by earning love from others? Do you achieve a sense of "I'm good enough" by seeking to be better than someone else, or having the approval of others?

The root of all the problems in your life will ultimately lead you to the heart of who you are: what you worship. Any time that something other than God is the object of your worship, bondage will result in your life! You can't abstain from worship - it's a fundamental part of who you are. The question you must answer is who (or what) is the primary desire of your heart - your emotions, your thoughts, and your actions. Is it yourself? Or is it God?

Freedom comes through worship. It sounds simple, but tune in this week to gain a deeper understanding of how to be set free!

  • What Makes Humans Human | Part 4
This episode of the "What Makes Humans Human" series looks at the dichotomy of the person - outer man v. inner man. We are all made up of both material and immaterial - the body, and the heart and conscience, often called either the soul or the spirit.
There have been many different philosophies over the history of mankind about the relationship between body and soul. Some have elevated the importance of the soul, and considered the body a trap or an illusion. Others have leaned heavily toward the reality of the physical experience. But God is the God of everything, redeeming all aspects of the person. He is holistic - the body and soul are separate aspects, but the physical cannot exist without the spiritual. Just as both the body and soul are corrupted by sin, both can be brought under the authority of God. You can honor God in your body, and pursue submission to Christ in your spirit. Check out this episode to better understand the relationship between your body and soul, and how to experience the freedom of Christ in a holistic way!

  • What Makes Humans Human | Part 2: Man as the Image of God
In Part 2 of our latest series on the nature of humanity, join Chad & Mike for a dive into what it means to be made in the image of God!
At the time of our creation, God set man apart from everything else. He made him in His own image, and called him his son. That carries an implication that man would live in such a way that would reflect back to the world who his father is. Why does that matter?
Many issues in life that may lead you to seek counseling are the result of not living in a way that reflects God's design. In subtle ways we are all seeking to be "god" of our own lives. This podcast illuminates what it means to embrace being made to reflect God's glory!
