Is your heart overflowing with gratitude today? 

Scripture says that the heart of those who know Christ will overflow with thankfulness - they know the value of the gift they have received!  (2 Corinthians 4:15) Those who know Christ are thankful for true freedom - freedom from sin, and freedom from moral reformation and keeping the law!

If you don't see yourself as in need of a Savior, then you probably won't find yourself filled with gratitude for receiving him. You'll probably look to other things for fulfillment - or even feel entitled to what makes you happy. 

True gratefulness is not circumstantial - it's based on knowing God, and it produces peace and joy in the heart.

This week's episode of The Nehemiah Project podcast tackles an issue that often comes up in the counseling room: trauma. Intake Director, Laura Coley, explains what trauma actually is, and how the brain interprets and stores traumatic memories differently.

There are various manifestations of trauma - from symptoms of PTSD to embracing an attitude of shame and powerlessness. Yet, God can heal all our wounds. A right view of who God is allows the abused to "face the beast," process their trauma, and experiencing healing.

Todays Podcast takes a deep dive into what the Bible has to say about successfully defending ones self against all of the attacks of Satan. Ephesians 6:10-20 gives us a perfect picture of exactly how Christians can successfully thwart the enemy battle plan.

You have an enemy, and he's fighting for your mind. The mind is the seat of your cognition, volition, affection and will. All actions are an expression of what is happening in your mind. It is either renewed through the truth of Scripture, or guided by "your own understanding." It is easily corrupted by Satan's schemes. There is hope for winning the battle in the mind, and it starts and ends with God's truth.

This week Chad & Mike begin a series discussing the mind - it's role in your life, why Satan wants to win over your mind, and how to engage in the battle with the truth of Scripture!

Is addiction a sin issue, or a disease? Is it a moral issue or behavioral problem? Is it true that "once an addict, always an addict?" In this episode, Chad and Mike discuss different approaches to helping and healing the problem of addiction. They examine historical approaches, modern approaches, and ultimately explain why we hold to the biblical view of addiction.
