The NeoLiberal Round

This is the introduction of a series on Series: Caribbean Perspectives: Towards Developing A Caribbean and Pan African Thought Journal. That’s a project plan of The Neoliberal Corporation. However, Is there anything such as “Caribbean Thought” and btw thought is not dinosauric or static, as it is #dynamic and #critical. Hence what of Caribbean thinking and minds. What have Caribbean thinkers contributed to this world order and what are they saying now especially in this #neoliberal world that has been penetrated by Trumpism, #populism and this renewed sense of indifference and revival of #fascism. I taught the #course #caribbeanthought at the #Jamaicatheologicalseminary. The course was originally developed by Rev. Dr. Garnett Roper, former President of the Jamaica Theological Seminary. I first taught the class Spring Semester January 2021. This course will benefit from my work in #neoliberalism and #globalization in the Caribbean or the global north south and past and post-colonial history and philosophy.

What are your thoughts on the idea of “Caribbean thinking” and how effective and #influencial is this thinking in shaping not just Caribbean life but life in the diaspora? What #contributions or #impact have thinkers of Caribbean thought impressed on past and current affairs on the #globalstage and will it bear any relevance for tomorrow given this regions level of #economicdependence. Nevertheless religion is an important feature in the Caribbean, is it to its detriment and what of the individual and its economic competitiveness within Neoliberal Globalization, given its monolithic and Judeo-Christian influence and masculine posture? In this episode I discuss part of the conclusion of my upcoming book: entitled: Neoliberal Globalization Considered: 1900’s to The Recent American Recession & Beyond: Where I continue to look at the socio-economic effects of neoliberal globalization on the world’s most vulnerable peoples. We say it’s part of a conclusion because it is; and will be the rationale and beginning of a current project and research on Privilege, Power, Position, And Status where I will include as part of my Doctoral studies at Georgetown University a study on power and it’s strategy to increase, extend and maintain power which poses problems for progress. The study of Neoliberalism leads into this, but I will provide an analysis in brief of my upcoming work and the rationale to the research in a sense. I begin this episode with an introduction stating that: Americans are opposed to big government because an active state threatens democracy. Hence, we have an alternative form of state that allows for big business that concentrates power and wealth, but at the expense of democracy. The complexity of the whole issues arises out of conspiratorial events aimed at amassing power and wealth via an unregulated uninhibited system that run roughshod over the state. Thereby creating an industrial society controlled by large corporations and not the state which was forged in the heat of an anti-colonial sentiment that resulted in the containment of it's constitutional powers. But which do you prefer, few large firms that concentrate all the power and wealth at your expense or a humble state that balances and equally distributes power on your behalf?

A small state is weak enough to regulate large corporations and their externalities.… William Domhoff in 2010 suggested in his book “Who Rules America? Challenges to Corporate and Class Dominance” that it was Corporations. Further, Charles Perrow in his book, “Organizing America: Wealth, Power And The Origins Of Corporate Capitalism" (2010) shows how American corporations are and became the dominant and overarching force/feature in America. 

But, my project is going further asking the question: Who Rules Corporations, if they rule/d America? China, which will be the focus of one of my research papers and project as I study Neoliberalism, Globalization, Income Inequality, Poverty And Resistance. The study will suggest China for reasons we must discuss and present in further detail for later. However after careful consideration and study, it would seem that The world now has two global challenges: One is in #Europe - #Putin and #Russian aggression. Second is #China in Asia and their push to become the new #superpower. China and Russia are #socialist countries with a kind of totalitarian system of government. While the West is seeking to develop partnerships and to rule by neoliberal strategy which pivots to corporate greed that is not easily detected, the East (China and Russia) is still living in the past using past values of a world that used intimidation and aggression to realize its goal of world domination and control. So, the question of Who Rules #America becomes even broader to #Who Rules the World? The Governor General is Jamaica's appointed Head-of-state and representative of the Queen of England who is the actual head-of-state of Jamaica. It was dynamic, informative, inspiring, animated and have you drawn into the story of her life, work and the impact she is making. Ms. Weeks had me on the edge of my seat and was dropping knowledge; it was an erudite analysis albeit for just over one hour. This Interview was very important to the solutions towards ending poverty and the UN 2030 SDG goal of building the human capital especially among vulnerable peoples and places as a way of eliminating poverty and improving equity in societies and the world. 

HerFlow exists to empower women and girls about reproductive health through education and mentorship. Their flagship project is to end Period Poverty (the inability to afford menstrual products when needed) in Jamaica. They focus most of their work in schools ensuring that girls don't miss classes because of period poverty. So far, they have donated nearly 5, 000, 000 period products. New Zealand and Netherlands have made ending period poverty a priority by providing resources to girls free-of-cost, but what about countries like Jamaica, what has been the policy and national drive to deal with the challenge that Period poverty poses, such as productivity, dropouts, gender inequality, stigma around women's health and the health-related issues that may stem from doing nothing? You will be surprised to know that many of the schools in Jamaica and poorer countries are church sponsored and as such, their theology prevents effective response to the issue and challenges surrounding sexual and reproductive health and the diluted or non-existent national policy in these countries on ending period poverty and women's and or reproductive and sexual health which also affects the building of the human capital. We discuss these, including her secret to losing over 100 pounds, resolving major health-related issues and her fearlessness in the daunting task with little help and a culture that discriminates against women's health, and the religious that assumes the negative side of femininity and masculinity. It was deep and Herflow's story is worth listening, reading and or watching.

You do not want to miss a second of this episode; it was quite interesting and revealing. Today on The Neoliberal Round Podcast we present another “Street Vibes: Pulse of the Street” where we stumbled on an amazing group called the “Ausar Auset Society” followers and teachers of Kamitic Spirituality and Culture. The interviews were quite revealing and we also learned about Bamba Ra aka Sha’Heed Muhammad who recently died and is being celebrated as an iconic black revolutionary from Philadelphia who graduated from Howard University and was involved in the Student Non-violent Action Coordinating Committee (SNCC), The Revolutionary Action Movement and the Nation of Islam; and was a frequent contributor to the Journal of Black Poetry. Importantly I raise a concern at the beginning of the episode as a preface saying that I do a compulsory course at Georgetown University as part of the Doctoral Studies Program in Liberal Studies where we are expected to do a course called DLS Foundations 1, 2, 3 and 4: where we look at the foundational history of civilization especially that of the West and to an extent the East. These studies, particularly Foundation 1, looks at our foundation by studying Mesopotamia, Greece, Rome and Europe, with a few reference made to Eastern China, Russia or India. But nowhere do we look at Egyptian/African history and ideologies and how they also form part of the understanding and development of our civilizations. I explore in brief before revealing the interview as a backdrop and as a concern that I must continue to bring before the academics at Georgetown and those running the DLS program. I then delve into the interviews largely with High Priest Shekhem Ma'a Kheru Men Metu who unveils the concept, practice, culture and spirituality of Kamit and the Ausar Auset Society’s role in re-popularizing, teaching and facilitating this traditional and historical culture and spirituality that has been somewhat incorporated in today but without its totality and wholeness. We also interviewed Priest Rameneikhi about the society’s impact and reach and touched on Bamba Ra. We connected with others on the ground and listened to the youngsters as they were practicing their drumming which oils be heard throughout the Interviews with the High Priests or Shkhems. This episode is part of a research study being conducted by The Neoliberal Corporation and Rev. Renaldo McKenzie towards a final project on “Privilege, Power, Position and Status… exploring the strategies of power to establish, extend or maintain its hegemony or position, and the problem this poses for society. We explore answers to the issue concerning whether there was a Democratic Plot to win the 2020 US Elections And are the GOP Justified In Pressing to limit mail, early in-person and Election Day voting?

After the 2020 US elections, there has been approximately 250 - 425 new laws have been
proposed by the GOP in 43 - 49 states to limit mail, early in-person and Election Day voting, after the unsuccessful attempts by Donald Trump and various other Republican officials to overturn it on allegations of voter irregularities which they could not prove.

However, sometime after the elections, in November 2020, I made an anecdotal discovery about how some people voted and wondered if that justified the need for some Republicans who are seeking through the Courts to strengthen election laws surrounding voter identification that some Democrats and Activists call voter suppression. So I decided to do some digging and made an interesting discovery, that I had initially published as a Conspiracy Theory in an article in The Neoliberal Commentary. But if truth be told, it was never a conspiracy theory but based in unverified facts lacking academic research and rigor as it was from a few sources. So, I decided to conduct a deeper study through ethnographic, mixed with some journalism investigation methods. The Neoliberal Corporation (and as part of my research at Georgetown) embarked on a study to explore this conjecture or hypothesis couched in the aforementioned article, that I will outlay later in this commentary. According to Amy Gardner, Kate Rabinowitz and Harry Stevens in a story published in the Washington Post, “The GOP’s national push to enact hundreds of new election restrictions could strain every available method of voting for tens of millions of Americans, potentially amounting to the most sweeping contraction of ballot access in the United States since the end of Reconstruction, when Southern states curtailed the voting rights of formerly enslaved Black men, a Washington Post analysis has found.” Voting laws proposed by Republicans in 43 states would limit voter access - Washington Post. It was six months after the 2020 US elections and a group of us, at The Neoliberal, conducting anthropological and investigative research for a story we are working, was in-between New York, Philadelphia and D.C. neighborhoods living in and going to street corners, community centers and homes to have conversations with some of the men we had formed (anthropological) friendships and relationships with, as we get to understand their voting behaviors and patterns and political interests, given the new inability to scrutinize voting with COVID-19 fears and this practice of social distancing. It was not the traditional way Americans voted which was at the public polling centers. In 2020, most of the voting took place within the homes and ballots were mailed-in boxes. We rapped with the guys on the corners within these locals-Asbury Park NJ, Philadelphia (North, South, Northeast and west), D.C (Prince George) and NYC (Harlem, Bronx and Brooklyn) days and evenings, in hoodies and skullies as if we were one with “them” on the corners, and we found out quickly what we could use to connect with the people in our study, The issue is that “Absentee Ballots” and or “Mail-in Ballots” or “Drop-Boxes” create problems for Democracy. Since Black men and young people don’t vote as much, but their Mammas do, who were influenced by the “Me too” movement and was already against Mr. Trump who they saw as misogynistic. This episode is quite revealing entitled: Breaking News: “Donald Trump’s Role in The American Experiment,” & “Was the 2020 US Elections Irregular?” The episode is broken up in two general segments: Part A Breaking News: The Evidence is mounting and staggering Suggesting that Donald Trump was strategically involved in what is now known as the American Experiment—the attempted take over of the US federal government which was planned two days ahead.

TheNeoLiberal.com obtained news on Monday May 2, when Rev. Renaldo McKenzie of The Neoliberal Corporation, sat down with John A Castro for an interview which lasted for two (2) hours long. It was very revealing with a Breaking News. The summary is available in The Neoliberal Post at https://renaldocmckenzie.com. The full interview is available on our podcast at The Neoliberal Round at https://anchor.fm/theneoliberal/ or on Apple podcast, Google podcast, Stitcher, Spotify etc. However, in this article we are interested in what Mr. Castro revealed which we believe is breaking news, as most if not all regular Americans are not privy to the evidence gathered so far in the ongoing investigation regarding the January 6 attack on the US Capital. Mr. Castro, who is privy to such information revealed That the evidence that is being gathered, seem to suggest that Donald Trump has responsibility in the January 6 Insurrection at the US Capital, and that Donald Trump may not make it to the the general elections if he plans to run given the staggering evidence that is mounting, which is not available publicly as the investigations are still underway. But what we know from John Castro, is that the GOP may be reconsidering their position on Trump given the evidence that will be released soon.

Mr. Castro said emphatically that he plans to censor Donald Trump at the New Hampshire Primary and will bring a suit against him on the second Tuesday of November 2023 for giving aid and comfort to the January 6 insurrection.

He went on, ”Donald Trump is poison and toxic” and that “one cannot have poison and toxic when you are bringing people together. One must remove the toxic which is Donald Trump, as such he is staking his campaign in this stake as he believes that Donald Trump bears some responsibility in the insurrection and stated that “it was orchestrated or planned 2 days before the insurrection. with a plan to install their own representatives and strategically it making moves to accommodate the American Experiment. What was breaking and revealing at this juncture of the interview for us here at The Neoliberal was when he stated that “they were actually trying to overthrow the republic… they were literally trying to overthrow the federal government,” and that this was called the American experiment, (which I (the host) estimate believe resembles the Russian special operation that Russia or Vladimir Putin is conducting in Ukraine right now). see the full video interview at Renaldo McKenzie Studios on YouTube https://youtu.be/6NJjQIvfEpw.
