The New York Islanders held a 2-0 lead in the 3rd period at home against the Detroit Red Wings but defensive breakdowns cost them and they lost 4-3 in OT. Ilya Sorokin was strong in net and both Bo Horvat and Noah Dobson had a goal and an assist but it wasn't enough to overcome the defensive breakdowns in the final 22 minutes of the game.

This was a milestone game for Casey Cizikas who also scored an impressive SH goal.
