The Next Journey

Sometimes, help comes from the most unexpected places. In this deeply personal story, I recount a moment at Oliver Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg, where a stranger—someone I will never forget—stepped in at a critical moment. It’s a story of human kindness, vulnerability, and quiet heroism. This is why I tell stories. Because sometimes the smallest acts carry the deepest weight.

They tried to cheat me.
They thought I was just another contractor they could walk over—like so many others.

This is the story of Extreme 16—a 4x4 dealership project in South Africa, complete with a test track, big money promises, and even bigger egos. But behind the glossy vision were a group of developers who left subcontractors unpaid and tried to do the same to me.

Only this time… they failed.

Because I had one thing they needed. And I used it.

Another story from the book Torn Trousers. How I chased a heard of elephant, in the dead of the blackest night, out of our camp to prevent damage that they would surely cause while foraging through the bush. Looking back, I must of been out of my mind.
