I have a huge pet peeve with the personal branding industry. I've had it for years…. No one flipping knows what branding actually it's and nobody teaches you the importance of brand graphics and like why you even need them because there's this huge misconception going around in the online space with coaches and service providers.

Most “Personal branding experts” have absolutely nothing to do with graphic design. If you’re not a graphic designer, don’t design websites or social graphics then you're not a personal branding expert. You are a personal marketing expert. Marketing and branding are two completely different things. But nobody talks about that.

Because of this, there's a lot of confusion around what personal branding actually is.

Clarity, Consistency and Community...Friend, I’m pretty sure you already have all three of these and they are not the issue.

Building a personal brand isn’t as hard as it appears. Often I see business owners massively overthinking the entire process and not really doing anything. Like not taking any action, getting stuck in this cycle of adjusting and reworking the concept, copy or visuals of the paid offers but never really (testing) the offer on a real audience.

I’ve seen countless business owners with incredible offers not finding the success they desire because the paid offer never sees the daylight. It’s stuck on the back end on google docs or word. Waiting for it all to be perfect, only the reason it’ll never feel perfect is because you don’t test it on any real humans.

In today’s episode I take you on a ride through the limiting beliefs we tell ourselves, that I’ve told myself and offer some tangible bite sized solutions to each one. Community — More followers or a larger community base won't change the fact that your focus isn’t where it needs to be. Sure they may not have invested in you yet revenue wise, but maybe that’s because they need to know you genuinely care about them.

I was so wrapped up in my head about all of the negative things. I had a mile long list of everything that wasn't happening for me. I had, a so many excuses I couldn't see the only thing that stood in my way was (me). To change anything, I had to be willing to change.

 

Diving super deep and getting a little overly passionate about the topic of mindset, limiting beliefs and my deep rooted desire to help you out of the rut I personally dug myself out of. I'm getting on my soap box and going all Mama Bear on you. BUT it's all out the immense love I have for you and not wanting to leave you behind as I carve a path forward, I'm sharing my lows and high.

I'm the breadwinner in my household earning 99.999% of the family income and at 7 months pregnant with my 2nd child, my company went into chapter 7. I was very lucky to be offered several jobs within seconds of the announcements but that is one of the many pivots that brought me to be here with you today. I daily talk to my family, friends, and clients about 100 problems a day - basically, it's the idea that we all - every single person - has 100 problems a day. This is a concept I learned from a seminar with Dr. Bell at UNC and I made it part of my everyday mantra - but it is reality. We really do have 100 problems a day - it is what you choose to focus on as a problem that defines you. If you get bogged down by the minutia (because the world is designed to suck you into minutia - whether it's dumb or frustrating conversations in your Facebook feed, news, neighborhood gossip, road rage, lines at the store - you name it, there will be an endless number of meaningless things that can suck the life out of you - IF YOU LET IT!!!!

You have a choice and when I find myself going into a rabbit hole, I simply say out loud...I'm not going to make this one of my 100 problems today. I focus on the high level key issues that are essential for my family and my business to thrive and I lOVE to help others gain this perspective and clarity. So, like you, I can have a plan laid out and one of my rescue pups gets out of the yard, one of my boys has a challenge at school or medical issue, or something goes haywire in my work - so this always means being ready to pivot when something comes up and being prepared to honor the needs of your life without disrupting the needs of your business and clients.
