Sometimes a serial killer will strike and then lay low for a year or more before killing again. Others will travel from city to city, state to state, staying ahead of those hunting them. Some kill in sprees, rushing to pile up victims before local law enforcement finally catches them. But what if one was simply hiding among an uptick in violent crimes and homicides in a city, shielded by statistics and a society becoming too used to street violence? That may well have been what happened in Anchorage, Alaska in the summer of 2016.
