Shift workers' sick leave is under the microscope in a move that has triggered the Federal Govermnent to intervention legally as employers are concerned they'll face a massive bill for back pay.

The case, which is before the Federal Court, relates to the meaning of the phrase “10 days of paid personal/carer’s leave” in section 96 of the Fair Work Act.
