To turn a profit, it’s a rule of thumb that businesses need to charge more than they spend on producing their products or providing their services. In other words, "markup" and "margin" are related, but not synonymous. 🙅

Break Even Margin is the point at which you can put on a job and not lose money.

Basically, you're breaking even here instead of gaining any money.

The problem with this is that there are a couple of dangers that come with it:🤢

1. You don't have proven math, or a proven formula to ensure that your pricing or your jobs consider all the things that you need to consider when you're looking at your business size and what expenses are involved.

2. When you don't price your jobs evenly, you're not sure if you're losing money or making money on each job.
