  • Emotional Support Animals and Service Animals l Episode 068
Would like to start out this episode by explaining that there are BIG differences between emotional support animals and service animals. Both are important and have great purpose in helping their owners.
Emotional support animals offer companionship. ESA do not have to be dogs. These animals can help with loneliness, depression, anxiety, and even phobias.
Service Animals are trained to individually work or carry out tasks for an individual with a disability, such as a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or other mental handicap.

  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder l Episode 065
PTSD is very well known and associated with veterans; however, they are not the only ones who suffer with this illness. People who have experienced or witnessed traumatic events also suffer from PTSD.
People suffering with PTSD may go through intense, disturbing thoughts and feelings related to an experience long after the traumatic event has ended. Reliving the events through flashbacks or nightmares. Some may feel sadness, fear, anger and/or detached or estranged from other people. Those with PTSD  may avoid situations or people that remind them of the traumatic event, having strong negative reactions to loud noises or an accidental touch.
It’s our responsibility as healthcare professionals to be educated and informed. With that being said we’re going to link an assessment screening tool for PTSD.

  • CNA Appreciation Week 2021 l Episode 064
We are doing something a little different with today's episode and we took time to talk with some CNAs. These are the conversations that we hope you find informative and inspirational.
A lot of times we tend as nursing professionals and healthcare professionals to assume what others want as appreciation. I’ve learned that the best way to know how someone feels appreciated is by asking them directly. Take the time to sincerely listen to your coworkers and employees. Validation is also appreciation.
To all the PCAs, NAs, CNAs thank you for all you do!!

    How does Botox work?
Botox enters the nerve endings at the injection sites and blocks the release of chemicals involved in pain. This essentially prevents pain signals from going to the brain, relieving migraines.
