Have you ever talked about getting out of the rat race and escaping to a cabin in the woods?  Youtube ‘sensation’ Martijn Doolaard has done just that.  He talks to Rog about his new homestead life in the Italian Alps as the first snow of winter starts to fall – that’s mountain life!  

Martijn's a Dutch filmmaker and travel writer, with 2 projects of note, a trip in 2019 from Vancouver to Patagonia…cycling and camping solo down the west coast of the Americas entitled “Two Years on A Bike”. Prior to that he’d spent 2016 and 2017 cycling from Amsterdam to Singapore, which he summed up in his first book, aptly entitled “One Year on a Bike”.

Those travels inspired him to make what so many of us dream about a reality, he purchased an abandoned dwelling in the Italian Alps, and documented his project to modernize and develop it in video. Over the course of just a year his YouTube following grew from a few thousand to nearly half a million.
