Episode 94: Leadership
There are “bad” leaders and there are “good” leaders.
We talk about what each of those roles looks like.
We all have done it. In CrossFit, fitness, and LIFE. What we may not realize is the impact our choice to put something off can drastically effect others that are counting on you.
We also get into the nutrition side of things. Obesity is an issue here in the United States and our children are getting the brunt of it. A parents choice in food can set their kids up for failure in the future, along with their childhood. Childhood obesity and food related diseases are at an all time high and you can’t blame the kids.
We break down how to get out of the vicious cycle that can contribute to these issues.
We all have that one movement that we hate. We hate it because we suck at it. Some of us avoid what we suck at and some of us work to get better.
2) Come up with a game plan as to how you are going to get better at it.
You have probably already heard, but we had Eric Clauss on the show last week to go over the analytics of our podcast. When we started the show we really had no idea how many people would listen. Eric went way above and beyond with figuring out all the numbers and we are pretty pumped with the amount of growth we have seen in just a year!!
This week we talk abouuttttt......wait for it.....
Nutritional Pitfalls:
Fat was bad for you, now it’s not. Grains are good for you, until you eat too much. Carbs were bad for CrossFitters until people couldn’t finish workouts. Paleo is great for you until you don’t eat enough fats.
We dig into this and some other nutritional nuggets that can hurt your performance along with your ascetics. Plus we make fun of Jenna.
Hard work beats talent everyday...
How many times have you heard that and actually believed it? Does hard work actually beat talent or are the people saying this the ones without talent?
Does talent beat those who work hard? Or do the talented athletes refuse to work hard because they are getting by on their talent?
We discuss both sides of the spectrum and give you our opinion on what we think is better. Talent or hard work. You might be surprised.
Everything worth something starts with a good beginning. That should be no different than when you start your CrossFit journey.
Foundations class, fundamentals, athlete training course, whatever the name, the content needs to be on point!
We break it down from the beginning when these classes didn’t exist to the current day where they do exist but explain how some excel and others fall short.
