The science applied to prayer helps in becoming a better listener by lowering the ego. (1) This enables the ability to hear and gather more information, thereby (2) converting it to knowledge or adding it to existing knowledge. (3) It also then opens the possibility of gaining new experiential knowledge. The experiential knowledge enables the person to shift the emotional reaction they may have, or learn that they are no longer behaving in ways that are detrimental to them. It also enables them to perceive the emotions of the person they are talking with, understanding their needs and imaging the world from their perspective.
