HUDA FROM LOVE ISLAND IS ALLEGEDLY SPIRALING. In this episode, we chat about the disturbing breaking news that was leaked about Huda Mustafa and boyfriend Luis. We read the text messages that were leaked and show Huda's state of mind, scary threats, and concerning behavior. We get into the concept of taking behavior like this more seriously, and the sometimes blurred lines of reality tv villains who are acting, vs who are being their true selves.  Of course, we hope everyone involved gets the help and resources they need. Sending love to everyone!

Let us know your thoughts on this really bizarre situation!

New books are dropping left and right, and our TBR lists are officially out of control. 📚🔥

In this episode of The Open Books Podcast, Amber and Colby break down some of the most talked-about new releases across fantasy, thrillers, literary fiction, memoir, and more. From magical libraries and dark fantasy romance to chilling psychological mysteries and powerful historical stories, we’re sharing the books everyone is buzzing about right now.

We chat about titles from Kate Quinn, Brandon Sanderson, Kerri Maniscalco, Mary Kubica, Kate Alice Marshall, and Jo Nesbø, plus a few emotional literary picks that are already getting major attention.

Then we dive into the biggest piece of book world drama right now—the new Wuthering Heights adaptation directed by Emerald Fennell and starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi. Between the chaotic press tour, viral marketing moments, and massive box office debut, we talk about why this film might signal a new era for romance-heavy book adaptations in Hollywood.

If you love hearing about new releases, book industry gossip, and what should go on your TBR next, this episode is for you.

HEY YALL. So, today we are back with a full in depth review of the very popular COLLEEN HOOVER'S new book called Woman Down.

The story follows Petra Rose, a bestselling author whose career has stalled after a viral backlash. Facing financial ruin and intense writer's block, she retreats to a remote lakeside cabin to finish her next manuscript. Her isolation is interrupted by Detective Nathaniel Saint, a handsome and mysterious investigator who arrives with disturbing news. As their relationship intensifies through "research sessions," Petra loses herself in a world where she can no longer distinguish between her fantasy and a dangerous reality.

THIS BOOK WAS ONE OF COLLEN'S WORST BOOKS IN OUR OPINION, and we get into all the reasons why! If you read, please let us know your thoughts. We are so excited to chat with you all!

Thanks for listening, and we’ll see y’all next week on The Open Books Podcast! 💕📚✨

HEY YALL! Amber and Colby are back: It’s a FULL reality TV recap and we have many thoughts. We’re breaking down the Tell Me Lies finale and unpacking that ending: what worked, what didn’t, and what we’re still not over. Then we get into The Traitors and Rob’s undeniable charm (and control?) over the entire house. Is it strategy… or just good looks? We’re also diving into Love Is Blind Ohio, the extreme girl drama of Love Island All Stars, our thoughts on The Beauty on Hulu and that insane procedure, and the jaw-dropping moments from the America’s Next Top Model documentary. Grab a snack or a drink and let’s debrief.

HEY YALL! Amber and Colby are back with our January book club episode!

The Arrangement by Kiersten Modglin is a psychological thriller about a married couple, Ainsley and Peter Greenburg, who try to save their crumbling marriage with an open-marriage "arrangement" where they each date other people once a week, but the plan spirals into dark consequences, deception, and suspicion as rules are broken and secrets are revealed. It's the first book in a trilogy, followed by The Amendment and The Atonement, and is known for its twists and fast-paced, easy-to-read style.

We get into all of the messy and deadly drama this book provides, and chat about our real thoughts on "open marriages"!
