  • Boxful of Nightmares: Terry Hobbs' personal memoirs on the West Memphis Three Murders
In 1993, three eight-year old boys, Stevie Branch, Michael Moore, and Chris Byers, were murdered; their naked, mutilated bodies found shoved into the mud at the bottom of a ditch. The information developed by investigators pointed to three teenagers as the murderers. The three teens were convicted after two separate trials. One was sentenced to life imprisonment, one was sentenced to life plus forty years, and the third was sentenced to death. The convictions of the three teens became one of the most controversial cases in the State of Arkansas. During the early years of their incarceration, the growth of the Internet connected people all over the world through discussion forums and websites. As a result, the three teens, who became known as the “West Memphis Three,” developed a cult following that included the support of high-profile celebrities, including Johnny Depp, Peter Jackson, and Eddie Vedder and others, who all bought into the myth that the three convicted murderers were innocent.Today, the three convicted murderers are free. They appear to have given up their quest for judicial exoneration. Once they exhausted all other potential “guilty” parties, (some joined their camp and others were obviously not guilty), they focused their attention on Terry Hobbs, step-father of Stevie Branch, in an effort to divert attention from the evidence proving their guilt. Terry Hobbs was never a suspect in the murders and the facts of the case do not support his guilt. Undeterred, the convicted killers and their supporters continue to point fingers at Terry Hobbs. This is Terry Hobbs' story.

  • Secrecy World: Inside the Panama Papers Investigation of Illicit Money Networks and the Global Elite
Secrecy World is the inspiration for the Major Motion Picture The Laundromat from Director Steven Soderbergh, Starring Meryl Streep, Gary Oldman, and Antonio Banderas

A two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist takes us inside the world revealed by the Panama Papers, a landscape of illicit money, political corruption, and fraud on a global scale.

A hidden circulatory system flows beneath the surface of global finance, carrying trillions of dollars from drug trafficking, tax evasion, bribery, and other illegal enterprises. This network masks the identities of the individuals who benefit from these activities, aided by bankers, lawyers, and auditors who get paid to look the other way.

In Secrecy World, the Pulitzer Prize winning investigative reporter Jake Bernstein explores this shadow economy and how it evolved, drawing on millions of leaked documents from the files of the Panamanian law firm Mossack Fonseca―a trove now known as the Panama Papers―as well as other journalistic and government investigations. Bernstein shows how shell companies operate, how they allow the superwealthy and celebrities to escape taxes, and how they provide cover for illicit activities on a massive scale by crime bosses and corrupt politicians across the globe.

Bernstein traveled to the Caribbean, Latin America, Europe, and within the United States to uncover how these strands fit together―who is involved, how they operate, and the real-world impact. He recounts how Mossack Fonseca was exposed and what lies ahead for the corporations, banks, law firms, individuals, and governments that are implicated.

Secrecy World offers a disturbing and sobering view of how the world really works and raises critical questions about financial and legal institutions we may once have trusted.

  • The Gilligan Manifesto / Ed takes Listener Calls and Questions
At the height of the Cold War, Gilligan's Island depicted seven Americans living in an analogue of a post-apocalyptic world where the survivors have to rebuild civilization. Remarkably, the society they create is pure communist. Interviews with the show's creator and some of the surviving actors, as well from professors from Harvard, reveal that Gilligan's Island was deliberately designed to be dismissed as low brow comedy in order to celebrate Marxism and lampoon Western democratic constructs.

During the Cold War, Gilligan's Island depicted Americans in an analogue of a post-apocalyptic world where survivors must rebuild civilization. Remarkably, they create a communist paradise. This was intentional, and the series was conceived as propaganda.

  • Getting The Truth : I Am DB Cooper - By Joe Koenig
Getting The Truth : I Am DB Cooper - By Joe Koenig

Getting the Truth: I Am D.B. Cooper by Joe Koenig is a book that argues military parachutist and convicted criminal Walter Reca was the infamous D.B. Cooper, the man who hijacked a plane in 1971 and escaped with $200,000. Koenig, a former Michigan State Police investigator, presents his case by analyzing evidence and interviewing key witnesses, including Reca's best friend, Carl Laurin, who is also the author of a related memoir. The book supports the theory that Reca, who died in 2014, was the hijacker, a conclusion Koenig reached after comparing his findings with the FBI's.

    • Author:
Joe Koenig, a retired Michigan State Police investigator and certified fraud examiner.

    • Core Argument:
The book asserts that Walter Reca (also known as Walt Peca) was D.B. Cooper.

    • Evidence:
Koenig uses his investigative background to scrutinize documents and interview witnesses, including Carl Laurin, who claims Reca confessed to him.

    • Context:
It's part of a larger effort to solve the mystery, alongside other books and documentaries that point to Reca as the culprit.
