Distinguished US constitutional expert and former Harvard University Law School Professor Alan Dershowitz has a stark warning for Australia in this in-depth interview with Damian Coory: reject the cancel culture nonsense of the US and modern ‘woke’ identity politics and keep the law and politics separate. 

A self-proclaimed liberal Democratic Party voter, Prof Dershowitx, now 84, taught at the Ivy League school from 1964 to 2013. He has represented such celebrity clients as Mike Tyson, Julian Assange, and Bill Clinton, he advised on the O. J. Simpson, trial and was a member of President Donald Trump's defense team in his first impeachment trial in 2020. 

Professor Dershowitz joins us from New York and – among more serious matters - explains why he lost one of his best friends, comedian and Seinfeld creator, Larry David.

Antonia Mercorella, CEO of one of the nation’s most influential and respected Real Estate Institutes, tells ADH TV’s Damian Coory that rules restricting how much property investors can borrow, higher taxes on investment properties, and new laws giving tenants greater rights are all making investing in residential property unattractive. 

As a result investors – both large and small - are looking for other things to do with their money, so that less housing is being built and scarcity increases.  This drives up house prices for both aspiring homeowners and renters even more. 

Government needs to look at changing rules to attract investment back to the market, as demand rises while supply tanks. Otherwise, prices will continue to skyrocket.
