November 27, 2017 Big Damn Birds
NOTE: When researching Thunder Birds, remember that there are two separate concepts people may be thinking of: Native American legendary birds, and the bird that some cryptozoologists think exist. There is some overlap and it can veer into a disrespectful zone. We aren’t Native American, we did not grow up with this legend, we did our best to differentiate the legends vs. the cryptids vs. the attested avians, but please tread respectfully and use culturally appropriate sources/resources if you want to learn about Thunderbirds. Big damn birds get their day in the sun in this episode! Devon tells Liz about the California condor, the Washington's eagle, and other bigass birds that may have inspired the thunderbird.
Secondary topics: Giant snakes, gettin' et; puppets; eagle roommate; the Broads yes-and themselves into a strange, strange corner; next week's topic.

November 06, 2017 Cursing Spokane
This one is kinda dark! Devon explains the origins and alleged effects of the curse that Jimmy Marks placed on the city of Spokane.
CW:
The curse was a reaction to some shitty behavior toward the Spokane Romani community, which we discuss.
We also briefly reference the word "gypsy" at the beginning to explain why we aren't using it in the rest of the episode (except when mentioning the title of a documentary about Jimmy).
Jimmy also alleged that the sexual assault of a disabled woman was the result of a curse, and we mention it briefly.
We also briefly allude to Colonel Wright's horse slaughter.
Secondary topics: Fruit of the poisonous tree; just a different kind of rock; how we'd react to curses; hex trends; internet arguments.
