With Jeff handling his Jaguar duties in New Orleans, Capt. Chip Wingo joined Capt. Kevin and Capt. Kirk to talk about the beautiful weather we have here on the First Coast. JUST KIDDING…

The guys talked about it, threw out some tips to try to get through it, and what was biting in spite of it. Lots of great fishing and shrimping talk all show long, so enjoy!

Capt. Kevin didn’t take long to make it officially official: it’s the DOG DAYS! Yep, it was crazy hot…but how crazy did everything get from the heat?  Listen in to find out what everyone had to say, and more importantly, find out what the forecast has in store everyone.

The guys were back together and in the studio for this episode, and they were rather excited – the change in the weather brought on some hungry fish. What a week! The guys, along with the callers, were talking about the good, the bad and the ugly on the water…and along the side of the road. You’ll have to listen to know what that means, but this story has earned Capt. Chip Wingo a new theme song.

Throw in a little sideways conversations involving opossums and three-legged raccoons, and you’ve got one heck of show on your hands (or in your ears).

Capt. Kevin was kinda like Dr. Frankenstein – no, he wasn’t creating a monster out of spare parts. But he sure was paying attention to the water and noticing just how lively the water was. He, as well as the Unusual Suspects, noticed how busy the fish were…and how busy Mother Nature was as well.

With Capt. Kevin gettin’ after it in the King of the Beach tournament, Capt. Kirk and Jeff welcomed in Tru Luvin Fishing’s Domenic Paniccia to chat it up in the studio. The talk was, as expected, fish-heavy – things have been pretty great, and with King of the Beach underway, there was plenty to talk about. They got updates throughout the show from several members of the OS Family, and based on what they heard, it sounded like it was shaping up to be a good tournament.

Speaking of Capt. Kevin, it didn’t take long for him to send in a photo of a nice king he caught…on the first bait they dropped from the boat! Is that a sign for a great day…or the best way to find yourself getting skunked?

Beyond the KOTB talk, all kinds of things got batted around and leave to shark talk to get things going a little sideways.  Just send us a message if you want a “I LOVE CLOACA” bumper sticker…if you know, you know.

If you’re old enough, you remember that guy from “Laugh In” who just didn’t get it – everything was “very interesting”. Well, when the water temp does what it’s been doing, the fishing gets very interesting, too.  Check out updates and insights from Capt. Seems like the best stories happen in the summer, and this episode was all about the stories – from tarpon fishing to wrestling hungry gators and everything in between! The stories came from all directions, too – from the boys themselves, from a couple of OS Hall of Famers, and a bunch of other callers, too.  If that wasn’t enough, after the Gemlux Trivia Question, conversation picked up about best outdoor-related movie – Dances with Wolves, Jeremiah Johnson, The Revenant…which one is your favorite?

For the past several weeks, Capt. Kevin and the Unusual Suspects have been pretty unanimous in their praise for the weather and the fishing conditions here on the First Coast. But just like everything else, things change – or do they?

Well, sometimes it just depends. On the day. On the time of that particular day. On your location at that particular time of that particular day. Which way you’re coming and going as it relates to that particular location on that particular time on that particular day.  You get the idea.
