Players start padel as a hobby for a bit of fun with their friends, but before they know it there is somebody they want to beat!
In this episode Sandy and Tom discuss why it is so important to get training as early as you can!
The majority of players that come to our clinics for their first instruction have been playing for a year or more without lessons! By that stage, as the coach, our main job is to start breaking down the bad habits!
It is so much easier to teach a new player good habits than to break the habits of a longer term "social player".

This episode Sandy and Tom discuss how players try to bend the rules and the old saying goes "Cheats never prosper"!
Players can be so determined to win that they try to do it 'at all costs', but how can you avoid those situations with someone cheating on the court.
It can be super frustrating but after years of dealing with it in tennis, Sandy and Tom offer their insights!

In this episode with Sandy & Tom, they discuss how they watch the Premier matches to get the most out of it as a player (as well as a spectator)!
We highly recommend players watch the professionals play and it is so easy now (and free) with Redbull TV app.
If you watch the pros carefully you can see the patterns of play they use and how well they move off the ball. It looks like they are lightning around the court, but much of that is anticipation and reading what it happening in the point. You can only start to get better at anticipation by watching how it should be done!

The Paris Premier Padel Tournament has become one of the most prestigious tournaments in the padel world, attracting elite players and selling over 24,000 tickets for the final weekend.
Here Sandy & Tom recap the tournament, giving their thoughts on the top players and why the number 1 pairs for mens and womens are so dominant!
Sandy also discusses his thoughts on why it will take so long for emerging countries to catch up and how they will get there faster!

In this episode with Sandy and Tom, they discuss what makes a good coach and how different coaching can be depending on your skill level and needs.
Good players are not always good coaches, whether in padel or any sport. While being a skilled player gives a coach valuable insight into the technical and tactical aspects of the game, the ability to teach and guide others requires a distinct skill set.
'70% of coaching success comes from communication and emotional intelligence' (European Journal of Sport Science).
As a coach try to avoid coaching every player the same way you were taught or the way you play now! Each player needs a slightly different approach and to be treated as an individual.

It's been a long time since we last sat on the podcast couch! A bit of a catch up this one.
- We'll discuss the influence that social media has on Padel.
- Should Tennis help facilitate the growth of Padel even though Padel, potentially, is a threat to Tennis?
- Sandy' heading off to Paris to work with RedBull TV again, what does his schedule look like?
- We'll chat about our first TPS Community Event, held in Ilford on the 12th of October,
... and much, much more!
We at The Padel School are SO GLAD to land our FIRST EVER ACADEMY in Boynton Beach, Florida at the Rally Club!
Over the last year, we’ve been working HARD to bring The Padel School to the USA for the first time in this way - and NOW we’re finally here!
We KNOW that our ACADEMY will unlock the potential of SO MANY MORE Padel players in the USA and across the globe!
Rally Sports and Social is home to 10 state of the art indoor courts with air conditioning so you can still enjoy a great game even on the hottest of days in the SUNSHINE STATE.
In this episode, we’ll take you through the recent European Championship tournament where we discuss if the men’s GB team and their 7th place is an accurate representation of the level of British Padel.
We’ll also have chat about how far away Padel is from becoming an official sport at the Olympic Games and what we believe has to be done in order to make that a reality as soon as possible.
But maybe most importantly - we’ll answer the question of; how exhausting is it to actually support a team?!
In this episode, we’ll talk about something that Sandy's been working really hard on over the last couple of years. We're super excited that we finally get to share it with you:
The Padel Player's Guide - Elevate Your Game No Matter Your Level
