This week I’m doing a (Rewind) solo episode sharing The Path’s Survival Guide to Embracing The Detours of Life.
One of the most frustrating things in the world to me besides bad traffic is having to detour because of it. No one likes to change direction or take a longer route, but we are often forced to do so at some point especially if you’re driving in Georgia. Life is no different. Detours are most times not expectant and can be overwhelming.
What do you do when life requires you to detour from your normal comfortable life? Do you freeze in time? Do you sit in a state of shock or do you fight to move out of your comfort zone, reroute and change directions? There’s a quote that reads,
“Often what may appear as a detour in life is actually the most direct and empowering path to your destination” - James Arthur Ray

“I had to get out of survival mode and I have to live - You can do both at the same time” - CeeCee McGriff
Survive and Live Life is a non-profit founded by CeeCee McGriff. Survive and Live Life was created to encourage other survivors to BOLDLY share their stories of how they made it through treatments, surgeries and all the after effects of fighting cancer. CeeCee is a 2x Breast Cancer SURVIVOR and after the last diagnosis made a decision to have a double double mastectomy with restructure reconstruction.
Today, CeeCee and I spoke about her path through such a trying time, how she learned to start living life to it’s fullest and how everyone should always get a 2nd opinion if you feel led to do so. We also spoke about what family and friends Should or Should NOT say to someone going through something as serious as cancer.

Psalm 147:3 He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds. Austin Tyler Foundation,Inc (Foundation Scripture)
In this episode, I had the honor of speaking with Ladonna Wilkerson Roberts, the founder of Austin Tyler Foundation Incorporated. Ladonna candidly sat with me to share her personal story with domestic violence and the tragic ending in 2004 because of it. We don’t share our stories for likes or attention, but to educate, bring awareness to prevent someone else from traveling this same path.
Through it all, Ladonna was determined and purposed to start a non profit in her angels name Austin Tyler.
Come sit, learn the signs and walk this journey with Ladonna and I. Learn how this mother, took what is one of the most unthinkable tragedies and is now on a mission to bring awareness of domestic abuse to women and their children as well as the community by embracing, educating and empowering.
She did not choose this path, this path chose her.

Up to 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage. A fact that’s hard to hear, but for a lot of women (myself included) it’s even harder to experience it.
As an Angel Mama, Danielle Nicole founded Tiny Hearts Remembered, Inc after a tragic loss. Through her pain Danielle discovered purpose and vision. Danielle knew what it felt like and what other women needed to help them navigate through such a difficult time. This non-profit was BIRTHED with the love, tenderness, care and strength.
Please visit her website below for the private groups, programs and merchandise to help you or someone you know navigate this journey if needed.
“To me pink represents the love I will always have for my angel.
To me blue represents the healing power of God through my journey.
To me white represents the enlightenment of Pregnancy and Infant Loss.
Healing does not mean forgetting.

Quote: “Every problem introduces a person to himself” - John McDonnell
A painful experience can abruptly stop anyone in their tracks. No one plans for painful experiences and no one is exempt from them. It’s during the most difficult times in our lives that we discover a different version of ourselves. Although our stories can be different, the fight to come through it all unscathed is the goal for everyone.
In today’s solo episode we walk through The Path’s Survival Guide to moving through and from pain to pivoting when necessary. We don't forget the pain, but we must acknowledge the it and seek healing from it so you don’t become paralyze in the pain. It is a process and the time it takes for you to heal will not be the same as another persons healing, but know that you will heal if you are willing to pursue it…just like the BOLD women on The Path Podcast.

In this solo episode, we are discussing my survival guide to being laid off 3 times in less than 5 years. You will learn the mindset and response that was needed to rise above those uncertain times to make it through each lay off and how it is possible for you to do the same.
There is no obstacle you can’t overcome. No one said it would be easy, but I can assure you that it is doable if don’t give up and keep moving.

It is easy to get caught up in the details of the big day and not think beyond walking down the aisle and dancing into the night. But what do you do when life happens and you are confronted with the vows that test your faith? We promise to love “ To have and to hold, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part? My guest Shelia Turner and her husband knew the decisions they made before getting married would determine the marriage they would have and made before God and to each other.
As a a loving wife, mother, grandmother Shelia also co-founded a non-profit entitled www.byfaithnotsight.org with husband of 33 years and counting David Turner after a medical diagnosis. Family is everything to the Turners and it shows through their day to day lives and non-profit.
