The Path Went Chilly episodes

  • Joey Lynn Offut Pt. Two
July 12, 2007. Sykesville, Pennsylvania. The fire department shows up at the burning home of 33-year old Joey Lynn Offutt. The body of her six-week old infant son, Alexis Alfred Borden III, is in the bathtub, but Joey herself is nowhere to be found. Three days later, Joey’s abandoned car is discovered over 60 miles away at an apartment complex in State College where she had previously lived. It turns out that no one can actually confirm having seen Joey or her son in the week prior to the fire. Could Joey have been responsible for her child’s death before she went on the run? Or were they both murdered by an unknown perpetrator who disposed of Joey’s body? We shall explore all the different angles of a truly perplexing missing persons case on this week’s episode of “The Path Went Chilly”.

  • Anthonette Cayadito Pt. Two
April 6, 1986. Gallup, New Mexico. The mother of nine-year old Anthonette Cayedito wakes up to discover that her daughter is missing from their home and she cannot be found anywhere. Anthonette’s sister would later claim she was abducted by two men after answering the door in the middle of the night, though she does not reveal this information until years later. There are a number of strange developments in the investigation, including a frantic phone call to the police from a girl claiming to be Anthonette and a sighting of her with a couple at a diner in Nevada, but there is also suspicion that Anthonette’s family might have known about her disappearance than they revealed. Was Anthonette Cayedito the victim of an abduction or did something else actually happen? On this week’s episode of “The Path Went Chilly”, we explore a controversial missing children’s case which has gone without conclusive answers for the past 35 years.

  • Claudia Kirschhoch Pt. Two
May 27, 2000. Negril, Jamaica. After she is denied entry into Cuba for a junket, 29-year old travel writer Claudia Kirschhoch is rerouted to a Sandals beach resort in Jamaica while she waits for a flight back home to New York. After last being seen walking along a beach, Claudia vanishes without a trace and most of her personal items are left behind in her hotel room. The investigation leads to a resort bartender whom Claudia went out on a date with before she went missing and there are enough suspicious actions from the resort to suggest that a cover-up might have taken place. Who was responsible for Claudia Kirschhoch’s disappearance and how many people were involved? This week’s episode of “The Path Went Chilly” explores a frustrating cold case about an American citizen who went missing during an unscheduled trip to a foreign country and has still never been found.

  • Marlena Childress Pt. Two
April 16, 1987. Union City, Tennessee. Four-year old Marlena Childress vanishes from her front yard after her mother, Pamela Bailey, claims she saw a red car driving away from their house. Two months later, Pam confesses that she accidentally killed Marlena and tossed her body into the Obion River. Pam soon recants her confession and claims it was coerced and since Marlena’s body cannot be found and there is no other evidence to implicate Pam, she is not indicted for her daughter’s death. Over the next several years, there would be a number of twists and turns, including some seemingly credible eyewitness sightings to suggest Marlena is still alive, and Pam would also face legal trouble for another violent crime involving her children. Was Pam responsible for her daughter’s disappearance, or was Marlena actually abducted? On this week’s episode of “The Path Went Chilly”, we examine a very controversial and divisive missing children’s case which has yet to find a resolution.

  • Mary Agnes Gross Pt. Two
June 12, 1962. Worthington, Minnesota. 20-year old Marlys Gross gives birth to a baby daughter named Mary Agnes, but is told by the hospital staff that the child died shortly after she was born. Mary Agnes is given a funeral and buried in a grave, but months later, Marlys is mailed a photograph of an unidentified family holding a baby whom she believes is her daughter. Over the next three decades, Marlys would discover a number of suspicious discrepancies to make her believe that Mary Agnes is still alive, so she petitions to have her gravesite exhumed in 1996. While skeletal remains of a deceased child are found, DNA testing reveals that they do not belong to Mary Agnes. Did the hospital orchestrate a cover-up in order to perform a black-market adoption and sell Mary Agnes to another family? If so, then whose remains were buried in Mary Agnes’ grave? This week’s episode of “The Trail Path Went Chilly” explores a very bizarre and complicated mystery about the disappearance of a newborn infant.
