What’s Your Position in the World?Given the United States’ outsized role in the world, and Clinton and Trump’s quite different positions on foreign relations, the time seems ripe for Americans to ponder their positions in the world. A few years ago, as an assistant professor of sociology at Stetson University in Florida, I taught an introductory sociology class every semester. Early on each semester, when my students learned about the sociology of culture, I would ask them in class “are you a cultural relativist, or a cultural universalist?” I explained that a relativist chooses to respect people’s different cultural practices while a universalist (or absolutist) insists that there are certain universal values and practices that all nations should respect regardless of their particular cultures. Regardless of what you may think or have been told things are bigger than you may know.. play your role and realize you're bigger than all of this..Your opinion matters. Vibrations form in many different ways for many different reasons. There are three major ways to vibrate.Love, music and silence. The love vibration lifts us to a higher state of consciousness and frees us of the thoughts, feelings, and actions that minimize and victimize us.Researchers have found that vibrations and the electromagnetic energy associated with them cause changes in your cells, which can then affect how your body functions. Different molecules vibrate at different rates — and those rates can speed up or slow down if conditions around the molecules change.Embracing the power of silence can lead to improved mental health, reduced blood pressure, enhanced self-awareness, and a sense of inner peace.Your opinion matters. While the power of positive thinking and visualization can have an impact on a person's mindset and motivation, it's important to note that it's not a guarantee that simply thinking about something will make it happen. The mind is a powerful instrument. It may not be a tangible organ like the brain, but it can be felt in everything we do and feel. It is said that we have the power to move mountains with our minds if we use their energy in the right wayThe way we think about something greatly impacts our emotions and actions. This phenomenon is not just a coincidence; it is a powerful aspect of human psychology that shapes our experiences and ultimately determines our outcomes.Your opinion matters. How big is the universe? About 93 billion light-yearsThe proper distance—the distance as would be measured at a specific time, including the present—between Earth and the edge of the observable universe is 46 billion light-years (14 billion parsecs), making the diameter of the observable universe about 93 billion light-years (28 billion parsecs). What lies beyond the universe? We are not sure but can theorize what lies beyond the universe that we know. Outside the bounds of our universe may lie a "super" universe. Space outside space that extends infinitely into what our little bubble of a universe may expand into forever.Your opinion matters. Send us a voice message and add your voice to the conversation.
