All Abby really wants is to be a professional jewelry designer, but no one will give her a chance! What she needs is buzz. Very demure, very mindful. She decides she’s going to go to Belgium and visit her grandpa, and maybe even compete in the Valentine’s Day Diamond Contest! She gets there and fixes a woman’s ring on the street right in front of a jewelry store. One of the owners, Alexander, comes out and is like, “What the heck?” She’s like, “Sorry.”
It turns out Alexander’s dad and Abby’s grandpa are rivals—they don’t like each other. Alexander and Abby start hanging out more, and Abby is bummed to hear that the shop is struggling. Alexander is bummed to find out that his dad wants him to come up with the design for the competition. Alexander is great at business, but design? Not so much. So they come up with a plan—Abby will help with the design if Alexander will help with the business side. On one condition: their families must never find out.
He makes her a website, and she’s like, “This is incredible!” They meet up in secret. Everything is going great.
But then they go to a party together, and they’re having a great time until their families show up and are like, “WHAT’S GOING ON HERE?!”
But these two lovebirds can’t stay away from each other. She comes over to help him with a design, and then they kiss.
It’s time for the event, and Alexander’s dad tells him he called in a favor with a judge and that there’s nothing to worry about. This upsets Alexander, and he bounces.
Abby wins, I think! Yay!
Her grandpa gives her this massive diamond that he’d been holding onto in case of an emergency, and she sells it because that’ll give her the money to go out on her own and be a jewelry designer.
She finds Alexander, and he’s like, “You should stay.” And she’s like, “Okay, I already was going to, but thanks for asking,” and they kiss.
