Hunter recounts his trip to Reading to see the Sea Dogs all week including his conversation with Kristian Campbell, who won Eastern League Player of the Week even though he just got promoted. Derrik, Hunter and Jake were thrilled to be joined by Salem Red Sox manager Liam Carroll for this week’s MiLB Talk on the Pesky Report! We asked Liam about his unique path to working in Minor League Baseball in America, as he is believed to be the first European-developed ballplayer to become an MiLB manager. What was it like trying to follow MLB in England as a kid? We also asked him about his role managing in the Red Sox organization, Salem’s season to date, and how they approach player development. We talked to Carroll about his experience managing several current and former Salem players, including recent show guest Jojo Ingrassia as well as Allan Castro, Yordanny Monegro, Nelly Taylor and more. News broke this week about Miguel Bleis’ imminent promotion to Greenville, so we asked Carroll about how he’s changed since his injury last year, how he has handled his superstar prospect status and what it’s like to have him in the clubhouse. Later, we talked to Carroll about riding the buses in the minors, how he helps young players transition into their career as pros and much more.

Jordan and Brian get together and discuss the Boston Red Sox splitting a four-game weekend series with the worst team in baseball: The Chicago White Sox.

The two *again* discuss Tanner Houck's case to start the All-Star Game for the American League, as well as discuss if the Red Sox ought to be worried that right-hander Brayan Bello has yet to ascend into the frontline-caliber starting pitcher they extended him in hopes he'd become.

They also shine light on the continued production out of middle infielder David Hamilton and give flowers to future Hall of Fame closer Kenley Jansen.

Later, they talk about John Henry's comments before discussing their All-Star ballots ahead of the Midsummer Classic in mid-July.

Matthew Crory, Kevin Baver and Doink discuss the Red Sox return to .500 AGAIN with a split vs the Braves. They debate if Kutter belongs in the 2025 rotation depending on the offseason. Sam Kennedy says the team is underperforming, but how can you blame them with the hilarious lineups they are putting out, like in Game 1. Chris Sale’s return might have seemed lame on TV but the Pesky Report Stands for Chris Sale. Dom Smith is here for a good time, and Dalbec is an RBI machine. Pivetta dominated the Braves as they are shut out for the first time this season. Duran leads the league in triples by a large margin, and Devers is on fire since April 24th.
