The Phoenix Frequencies episodes

  • Episode 29 The perfect picture

Nienke inherited the photography 'eye' from her grandfather. Eyes for the unexpected angle, using a peripheral view within the bigger 'picture'.
As an accountant, Nienke's grandfather used the same skill to see what needed to be seen as a thermometer within the numbers, reading the results in healthy or sick companies. Unfiltered.Real.
Where do we put on filters in our lives to have a perfect picture, to look good for others? Do we dare to be real, with flaws, mistakes and unfiltered reality?
Don't edit your life; enjoy reality, with or without a camera.

We are all responsible for how we show up in the world, to others, ánd to ourselves. With Phoenix Frequencies, Nienke van Bezooijen shines her light on what we can do to be the best versions of ourselves based on how we show up and what we are willing to learn. It isn't about showing the way with pretended positivity, it is the heart-based vulnerability-sharing options. It takes courage to rise. See what is for you. Or share with others.  Perfect doesn't exist; curiosity can be the stepping stone to broaden your perspectives.

Courage to move on from the past,
Trust to be with the present,
Rise to create a new future.

  • Episode 28 Guest Dr Betty® Uribe When the ordinary becomes extraordinary

In this episode, the special guest is Dr. Betty® Uribe. Born in Colombia, the doctors didn't have faith that she would survive. But her mother believed in her.
Her life shifted over one flight from Colombia to the United States when she was 12. Important women in her life taught her lessons that made her the remarkable woman she is now.
It's highly recommended that you follow her to see how she implements all that life has taught her in the past, to be present for what shows up, and to create miracles in the future by showing up in the 'right' moments.
Her message for this episode is: Be yourself, show up.... when the ordinary becomes extraordinary.

  • Episode 27 Emma's Legacy

This episode is a tribute to Nienke's grandmother, Emma Emily van Bezooijen-Spreksel, born in 1918 during WWI in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Who grew up in poverty under mental and physical abuse.
Who gave birth, just 20 years old, to a son three months before Rotterdam was bombed by the nazi-regime, starting WWII.
Emma overcame her fears and anxiety when she could care for children. She started with her baby brother, who was 17 years younger than she was. Then, my father, my brother, and I, followed by my children.
Emma died June 29th 2017, nearly 99 years old.
She created her longevity by transforming her difficult childhood into unconditional love, genuine care, and curiosity with empathy for others.

  • Episode 26 Maintain your dignity

Dignity is an inside job. Although impulses from the outside world are tempting, they are also considered dignity or self-sabotaging. Like oil and water, they don't blend well.
Recognising your red flags of sabotaging your dignity is worth taking a closer look at.
What if your behaviour is triggered when your dignity is under pressure?
Are you giving up your dignity, or can you stand the heat? Being aware of the circumstances when you sacrifice your dignity is a start. When you recognise the red flags, you can shift. That's a Phoenix Frequency.

  • Episode 25 Can you listen outside of your box?

Have you ever realised how our two human ears are put side by side and form the shape of a heart? What does it indicate? Two ears also form the core of the word "hEARt" indicates that it is important to listen to people from our neutral heart.
The Albinger Institute published in 2007 The Anatomy of Peace: Resolving the Heart of Conflict. We listen from how we frame or box ourselves. That can lead to inner and outer conflict.
Listening outside our self-developed box can broaden our perception from human to human rather than 'othering' or de-personalisation. You and me or me and 'them' can shift the world. What are you waiting for if your perception of your world hurts you right now?

  • Episode 24 Being free from or freedom to choose

How others see you and perceive you can be mixed up or woven into limiting beliefs. Limiting beliefs can influence how you react or interact with others, too.
Don't mix up what you don't want in your life and how others respond to you. BEING limited in what you can or can't;  You have a free choice if you take their perception on as your identity or not.
You have a free choice to stay out of judgment and polarization within yourself at any time.
Gran Emma was an example for Nienke by choosing love over hate. She did this by not passing on the bullying she faced in her childhood but by transforming her choices of curiosity and love instead.

  • Episode 23 Don't outsource what you own

When we feel emotionally under pressure, we tend to hide how we feel.
We give our response to how we feel away by blaming and shaming others for how we feel.
Polarisation is a mask. The masculine form is the overpowering, attack as the best defence. The feminine mask is to get people in your camp of victimhood, showing how awful you feel because of their behaviour. We justify our behaviour because we outsource the control of how we feel to others.
We see this in our world leaders, but how about ourselves? What do we tell ourselves?
In this week's episode, Nienke shares her challenge of choosing a mask or a look in the mirror.
She chose what fits her authentic self. How about you?

  • Episode 22 Guest Michael Drummond Davidson The gift from the mines

Michael Drummond Davidson worked as a young man in the mines for a living.  His curiosity brought him to a life-changing experience. Later, the gift from the mines brought him all over the world as a stone mason.
Not only is he a stone healer, but also a living beings healer as a polarity therapist, heart ambassador, nature and art lover.
His latest 'architectural' project is bringing children in touch with nature through the swamps in his rural area in Mississippi. If you have books or other teaching materials in education about nature, you can donate them to his children's project.

  • Episode 21 Good Grief!!!

We grieve when we face a loss, a shift that disrupts us from what was.
A loss of a dear one, a breakup, or a loss of physical or mental capacities.
What if grief is an opportunity to shift what is no longer serving up?
If we can bring the pain of the loss to a stepping stone of what elevates us instead, so painful grief and gratitude live on the same page.
This podcast is an honourary tribute to Nienke's partner, Piet, who passed over in October 2023.

  • Episode 20 (self)Compassion for Beginners

Compassion with a mental approach is going towards sympathy; from a feeling approach, it comes from empathy for someone suffering or in misfortune, according to the dictionary.
Can you access compassion for someone who is with hate or blame? Can you let go of judgments? Maybe if you are aware, compassion doesn't need agreement to someone's deeds or actions. Compassion is neutral, fréé of judgements.
OK, that is to others, how about you? Can you stay away from blaming, shaming or judging yourself? Go to self-compassion?
Nienke confused self-compassion for a long time with self-pity. Giving the solution to others to show compassion is not sustainable. Self-pity was due to life experiences, something she felt allergic to. She had a judgement about that. It blocked her from accessing self-compassion, feeling it, living it, and grounding herself as a Phoenix Frequency.  With the HeartMastery program and the Heart Ambassadors Community, the portal opened. How about you?
