We've managed to stretch this out to 20 episodes... only 2000000 to go! Yes, the eternal search for the greatest pilot episode of all time takes an unexpected turn as we pitch two versions of the same show against each other! Who did it better, the Americans or us in Blighty? Which one is Jed pitching and which one does Rob think is the best?
We have had controversial episodes before, but this one takes the stapler in the jelly.

September 13, 2017 THE PILOT // TAKE 19 - SAVED BY THE BELL v BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER
Once again, Jed and Rob try their hand at finding the greatest pilot episode of all time.... will it be in this week's episode? We have two "teen" shows, so perhaps the nostalgia element will sway them?
First up is the Saturday Morning / School Holiday classic 'Saved by the Bell' which Rob has kindly brought the the table. Followed by Jed's choice of the 90s much-loved horror-lite 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer'.

September 05, 2017 THE PILOT // TAKE 18 - KNOWING ME KNOWING YOU vs HARD KNOCKS
Its that time of the week again! You know the hour of the week you set aside to shout into the either about the two hosts of the show, tearing your favourite TV show ever apart. You know the pilot episode is great, one of the hosts gets it... why doesnt the other one? why does it make you so angry?
Answer: because the argument over the best pilot episode of all time is the eternal question. Its the question that our ancestors carved into cave walls. While Og explained to his wife that LOST had the best pilot episode ever, the lovely Ig disagreed and threw rocks at him until he agreed it was The Sopranos. And so it has been like this through millennia, until now, where the hapless Jed & Rob seek to answer this very question.
This week is a controversial one though. Knowing me Knowing you means ALOT to Jed, while Hard Knocks means ALOT to Rob. Somebody is gonna come out the other side with a black eye!

Rob Jelly has gone MAD. Here we are, trying to find the greatest TV show pilot of all time and he goes and throws a reality TV cooking show into the mix! Jed slips easily into routine by serving up another classic pilot in Columbo (directed by Steven Spielberg!). Surely the might of the world’s greatest one-eyed detective can bat away the sticky fingers of The Great British Bake Off?

Welcome to another episode of The Pilot podcast. This week’s TV shows are both rather sci-fi and both very weird in their own way. Rob argues that Fringe could potentially be one of the greatest TV Pilots of all time, while Jed… while Jed… who are we kidding, Jed puts forth a TV show about a talking bike.

August 15, 2017 THE PILOT // TAKE 15 - GLOW vs DOWNTON ABBEY

Though this week we talk about female wrestling, myself and Rob virtually entered the ring ourselves with our tag team partners GLOW and Downton Abbey. These are two mighty competitors who would likely take out any other TV show that threatened to enter that canvas square. Facing each other, its incredibly difficult to predict a winner... so dont!

Admit it. You missed us. Yes its only been a week, but for us hosts its been a couple! While you benefitted from our foresight in recording episodes in advance, we have had to deal with a whole 14 days without seeing each other! Don't worry you get to hear us catch up with each other live in the podcast before we kick-off the show (you like those bits right?).
This week we bring another two biggies to the table from very different genres. Being the sci-fi cheerleader that I am, I place Star Trek firmly on our already busy tabletop while Rob shifts some cutlery to the side and makes space (pun intended) for Porridge!

Don't worry, he hasn't gone bananas, he has just put forward the incredible Rik Mayall TV pilot for "Bottom". In a not so coincidental twist of fate, Jed has gone tactical this week and went with the pilot episode of The Young Ones! Yes we have gone full Rik Mayall!
