In an attempt to alienate our audience - because we have become way too big for our boots -  we have gone for two shows made before a large chunk of our audience was born. I've gone for the much celebrated CHEERS from 1982 and Rob has gone for a classic in every sense of the word, Dr. Who (1963).

I would say that this is currently my fave episode we have ever recorded because we have found our stride and also our mission, which is to watch every single pilot episode of every show ever made, so we can finally discover which one is the best of all time. Yes, it will probably end up being LOST, but like that show, its the journey that really matters, not the ending (stop hating on the LOST ending btw guys).

So to paraphrase the immortal words of Pugwall from episode 6 of THE PILOT as he turned to his dog who was idly sitting there minding his own business, we hope you enjoy the episode and if you don't then you're all bloody nerds.

This week, Rob throws a swerveball and presents the pilot of GOTHAM, which Jed parries with the pilot of THE FLASH. It's almost like we have planned it! Two superhero pilots, both extremely popular, both equally derided by those that find these things childish. We love them and we take aim, pick faults and celebrate each of these episodes while mentally keeping score... and then actually giving a score at the end!

Hello friends, I see you’re back! So are we and we have brought two more pilot episodes to the table. This time around Jed has chosen the Australian children’s show from the 90s, PUGWALL, while Rob has countered with the one-two shot of stone cold comedy classic BLACK BOOKS!

I know what you're thinking. You're thinking "Jed's only gone and picked an anime! What is he playing at? Doesn't he know that the listening demographic is firmly in the anti-anime camp?". Well Attack on Titan is different! It's accessible! We promise! And what better pilot to pit it against than the a show thats basically a live action cartoon, Orange is the New Black!

Who would have thought there could possibly be a show where 2 guys pitch pilot episodes against each other in some sort of pseudo Pokemon style battle and still be entertaining? We did! And its another weird pairing as we pit Only Fools and Horses (Rob) against Knight Rider (Jed).

Do both have great theme songs? Yes.

Do both have iconic cars? Yes.

Do both have a scene the main protagonist is shot in the face at point blank range but he is saved because he has a metal plate in his head from Nam? Well, no...
