The Pitch

Consequences #5

Reminder that you can read along with and ahead of the show by subscribing to Marvel Unlimited (we don't get paid for you doing that, so it's not an ad, it's just a cool service). You can also use Comixology, or buy the trades from your local comic book shop (the preferred method, if we're being honest). Be sure to check with your local library to see if they have them there! Everything To Guppy is a bite-sized, four-times weekly comedy/gaming podcast in which Gary Butterfield (Watch Out For Fireballs) and William Hughes (The A.V. Club) attempt to analyze every single item, boss, character, and concept in the rogue-lite video game The Binding Of Isaac. They manage to pull it off only slightly less than 50 percent of the time.

Kole, Ben, Dennis, and Jala talk about Tunic, Iron Lung, Necrobarista, and more!

• Jala: Necrobarista: The Final Pour. Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia.
• Dennis: Star Wars: Jedi: Fallen Order. Dead Cells. Tunic.
• Kole: Iron Lung.
• Ben: Valheim. Titanfall 2. Storybook Brawl.

• What was your best positive experience playing multiplayer games online?

• Game preservation is getting harder.
• Nintendo added folders to the Switch interface.
• Witcher 3 player finds the game’s last secret.

1, 2, Freddy's coming for you. 3, 4, the gates are open. This slasher classic bucked the trend of wordless, stoic villains in favor of a killer with a distinct personality who was obviously having fun. The teens of Elm Street don't know what's coming for them, as Freddy Krueger invades their dreams, attacking, killing, and sexually menacing them. That is until one girl gets the idea to fight back. We kind of wondered whether or not this would hold up, and we're happy to report that it does.

Imagine, if you will, a very bad boy. Now make him 100% worse. That doesn't come close to the awfulness of Dennis the Menace, the young child born to kill the old man. This movie was a nightmare, the old television show was boring, and this game is bad too. So we talk about the times we were menaces ourselves, but mostly we were just weiners.

This week we read your responses about Season 5, and get ready for the big status quo changes to come. We also talk about the bonus features on the Season 5 DVD and weigh in on our first and worsts.

Special thanks to Joshua Jarett for our cover art, Gwen May for our theme song, and Brayton Cameron for being our announcer.

Reventure is a cute little joke platformer about the many ways that quests can end. It's got a little Stanley Parable in it, along with a little Don't Shit Your Pants. It's not a bad game, and actually kinda neat, so we instead talk about Dangerous Animals shows, and Kole tortures Gary with home improvement chat.
