The Pitch

It's a clash of the titans, as we clash about whether this game about titanic animals is any fun. And that makes for an episode that, on the whole, stays on topic! At least in comparison to the other episodes of this show.

This week, we return to the world of Souls comics to see what's been happening since the last time we checked in. We cover the Dark Souls anthology series Legends of the Flame (Part 1 and Part 2), which has a smattering of not very good short stories that are, putatively, set in the world of Dark Souls.

We then turn our attention to The Healing Thirst, the second volume of the Bloodborne comic. It's a standalone arc about two men, a scientist and a priest, who are trying to discover the cause of the Ashen Blood plague, and it's really good.

For reference, here is a link to the first Dark Souls comic discussion. Additionally, the first Bloodborne comic discussion, Death of Sleep, was an episode of Adaptation Decay. We've bumped its Patreon tier down so everyone who gets this episode can also hear about the previous part.

Everything To Guppy is a bite-sized, four-times weekly comedy/gaming podcast in which Gary Butterfield (Watch Out For Fireballs) and William Hughes (The A.V. Club) attempt to analyze every single item, boss, character, and concept in the rogue-lite video game The Binding Of Isaac. They manage to pull it off only slightly less than 50 percent of the time.

Avengers vs. X-Men: Versus #5

Reminder that you can read along with and ahead of the show by subscribing to Marvel Unlimited (we don't get paid for you doing that, so it's not an ad, it's just a cool service). You can also use Comixology, or buy the trades from your local comic book shop (the preferred method, if we're being honest). Be sure to check with your local library to see if they have them there! Poor Billy Quizboy can't catch a break. Just when he thinks he's broken into the world of super science, he's kidnapped to perform ethically messy surgery again... this time for the Guild's super lawyer Monstroso. Meanwhile, Pete marshals the forces of Sphinx to rescue his friend, and has a heart to heart with Sergeant Hatred about his messed up priorities.
