While it's nominally a turn based strategy game, Into the Breach provides near-perfect information, making it more of a series of chess puzzles than a traditional X-Com-alike. And the story of the game's development confirms that this was the designer's intention.

This episode takes us through Ashina Castle, starting at the Blazing Bull and culminating in a rematch with Genichiro to secure the Divine Heir Kuro. Then we get a big lore dump, and learn the true mission of the game.

This is fair warning that we are beyond the spoiler wall, since it's impossible to talk about some things here without putting them in end-game context.

In this episode, we discuss some generalities about the show (voice acting, production, budget, etc etc) and then get into the first episode, Strategy X, in which we meet our team, Xavier commits some mind crimes, everyone thinks Toad stinks, and Mystique has a surprise guest.
