The Pitch

Warner Bros. signed R.E.M. at the height of their popularity as an alternative rock band. Imagine their surprise when the R.E.M. they got sounded nothing like the R.E.M. that released Document just a couple of years earlier. Peter, Mike, Michael, and Bill had decided to swap instruments around. Peter picked up the mandolin, and a few folk ballads made their way into the mix. Given all of this upheaval, it's surprising that Green is one of the most solid R.E.M. albums, front to back.

(In a full grown man's voice) Daddy, daddy, bring me a boy.

Kris and Kole talk about the wrong kind of seasonal affective disorder, body farms, and architecture.

ALSO: Whatever it takes. Spring weirdness. Take that, stepdad. Deer shouldn’t eat that. The black dog of depression. Fuck this van, fuck this table. Architecting your life.

This entry hits the Tark mark.

Ok, folks, this is where the episode order gets weird. This week we're covering two episodes: No Mutant Is An Island and Obsession. "But Jeremy! But Gary! No Mutant Is An Island is on the fifth DVD! Why are you covering it now?!" you ask. I hear you friend, but these were intended to be next, but due to major issues with the animation studio, they were aired drastically out of order. This is going to be a recurring trend from now until we the end of the series, so make sure to check out our schedule in order to watch along with the show.

Be sure to check out the Patreon for ways to support the show and the network, and come talk trash about Gambit to Gary and Jeremy on Twitter. Thanks for listening!
