It is roster cutdown day around the NFL. The Steelers have axed a few PM Team favorites, most notably, Hank Mondeaux. Nonetheless, will the front office jump on any moves? The team traded for outside linebacker Malik Reed from the Broncos. The guys ran through the Steelers offensive line, which is a unit full of misfit toys. 

Former NFL offensive tackle Lomas Brown joined the show. Lomas is part of the Lions radio team and talked about what he saw from the Steelers offensive line yesterday. He talked about how many points the Steelers left on the field because of poor offensive line play. He said there’s a shot it turns into a formidable unit this year, but limiting injuries is the most important thing. He said the guys up front have to take accountability for getting better and it can’t all fall back onto coaching. The guys asked about a quick fix for the offensive line and if it’s possible to find that guy on the waiver wire or a preseason trade. Lomas doesn’t think Mason Rudolph will draw a 4th round pick in return. 

Teams are starting to make roster cuts. The Steelers should be bargain hunting, especially at offensive line and edge rusher. Poni is pushing for the Steelers to not play Dan Moore Jr. in week one. He’d rather see Joe Haeg be the guy in that spot after Moore’s performance in the preseason.

Aditi talked about Mike Tomlin playing all of the starters for a full half in yesterday’s preseason finale. Aditi brought up the Damontae Kazee injury that will leave the safety out for the entire season. 

Aditi joined the guys following the final week of the NFL preseason. Aditi commented on where the Steelers are right now after the 3 exhibition games. She got into the offensive line and mentioned how Max Starks chatted with her at training camp, but none of the offensive lineman felt the need to pick his brain a little bit. Aditi talked about how Joe Thomas used to help young Browns offensive lineman when he was an established all-pro player. Aditi said the Steelers will have a chance tomorrow to check out what is left out there following roster cuts and if any team is interested in a trade.
