Another great start from Paul Skenes last night. So good to the fans in St. Louis, they gave him a standing ovation. Was that a little over the top from the Cardinals fans? Was it another way for their fans to show off as the ‘best in baseball?’ Chris thinks it was a lame move. Poni applauded the Cardinals fans for loving what they saw from Skenes.
A few callers mentioned no-hitters they saw in person and how they cheered for the opposing player in those cases. But that wasn’t the same as last night.
Former Penguin Tyler Kennedy joined the show. It has been 15 years since the Penguins beat the Red Wings in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final. TK talked about how fun it was to be on that team and the journey it was to win the whole thing. Who did Tyler take the cup from and who did he hand it off to? Tyler had a chance to score in Game 7, but Max Talbot kept the puck and netted the second goal. TK described the scene of the Penguins holding on down the stretch with a 1-goal lead in Game 7.
