Hour 1: After a day and a half delay, the Steelers and Bills will finally be getting underway today at 4:30. The guys got their current thoughts in on what we could witness in a few hours and what it will take for the Steelers to pull the upset.
Former NFL QB Ryan Leaf joined the show. Ryan will be in Buffalo covering the game so he gave a lay of the land in terms of the weather. He thinks if the wind is down, neither quarterback should have too much trouble throwing the ball down the fall. Ryan talked about the challenges of the wet ball or water-logged ball and what types of challenges that makes for receivers. Ryan talked about this journey Mason Rudolph has been on and his lack of turnovers, which helped turn things around for the Steelers down the stretch. Ryan got into the importance of running the football and how much of a key Najee Harris is today. The guys asked Ryan about the Steelers getting pressure on Josh Allen and how they can force the QB into turning the football over. Ryan pointed out the Bills being 16-0 when Allen doesn’t turn the football over. Ryan talked about the pressure the Bills may be under and if they will let that creep into their minds if the Steelers take a lead in this game. The guys asked about a few of the Bills targets and how much of an impact they can make. Ryan got into the Steelers’ chances of pulling this off without TJ Watt on the field. Ryan gave the difference between regular season and playoff intensity. The guys circled back to Rudolph and asked Ryan what his mindset might be entering his first playoff start. Ryan expects the game to be within one score in the final quarter and maybe even the final minutes.
