We jumped back into the Jay Glazer answer about Mike Tomlin possibly being traded and floating out the idea of the Commanders as a fitting dance partner. Doug Whaley also joined The Fan Morning Show and suggested Tomlin going to TV for a year or two after this season and getting back into coaching after that if he feels like it.

Aditi Kinkhabwala from the NFL on CBS joined the show. Aditi commented on the Mike Tomlin trade talks and why she thinks it’s so ludicrous. She argued for why people will regret pushing Tomlin away and got into the traits that still make him a great coach. The guys argued that they don’t think things will get better with Tomlin and they don’t have faith in him to make innovative hires in the future.

They agreed only one player on the offense has exceeded personal expectations and that is Jaylen Warren. Chris thinks it matters that Kenny Pickett has leadership qualities, but can’t get it done on the field. Stephen A. Smith called out Big Ben for the position the Steelers are in now. The guys there is blame that could go both ways, but the franchise could have ultimately told Ben to get lost and not give into him wanting to return.

Former Penguin Tyler Kennedy joined the show. Tyler talked about the Penguins finally breaking through on the power play. Tyler thinks Sidney Crosby will be able to will this team to the playoffs with 2/3 of the season remaining. He can’t see a team with a healthy Crosby could possibly miss the playoffs 2 straight seasons. TK thinks the Penguins missing the playoffs again would result in them blowing things up in the off-season. The guys asked Tyler which Canadian cities were his favorite as a player. 

Some notable Pirates news to start the show – the team has signed Rowdy Tellez to a 1-year deal and also struck a new TV deal to join the Penguins on SportsNet Pittsburgh. But there is bad news – Endy Rodriguez is out for the season and in need of elbow surgery.
