What do we make of Broderick Jones so far? Should we worry about Dan Moore holding him off or Jones not taking that leap to certify himself as the man? And what happens if Mason Cole goes down? He has quickly become among the most important people on the offense. Donny also ruffled some feathers yesterday.  

NFL Film expert Brian Baldinger joined the show. Baldy thinks we might be right about Jaylen Warren being the Steelers best RB. He’s confident that if Warren keeps proving he is a better option than Najee Harris, he will get his way onto the field. The guys asked Baldy if Nick Herbig was a steal the way he looks and compared him to TJ Watt coming out of Wisconsin. Baldy liked what he saw from Joey Porter Jr. in his NFL debut.  

The guys continued the RB discussion with Jaylen Warren seemingly playing too well to deny, but the Steelers brass isn’t budging. The guys wondered if it could turn into a similar situation that the Cowboys went through last year, which didn’t work out the way everything acts.

Pirates 1st round pick Paul Skenes joined the show. Paul talked about getting to meet Dick Vitale earlier today – having lunch with him in Florida. Paul talked about the adrenaline rush it was to make his pro debut with Bradenton earlier this week. Paul talked about the scene it was for fans to just watch him warmup the other night and said it’s something surreal that he’s certainly not used to. Paul talked about the transition from Air Force to LSU to pro baseball. Paul described how hands-on and hands-off the Pirates have been so far and what the plan seems to be going forward. Paul said there have been a few small adjustments, including adapting to the pro ball lifestyle. Paul left no question that he was solely here to be a pitcher and didn’t really consider being a two-way player for right now. He talked about what his track could be like for the rest of this season and said it’s more of a conversation than them just telling him where and when he will be – saying it’s mostly a week at a time. Paul did confirm that he is dating LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne and what it has been like going public with the relationship. Paul described his ice cream order and a few other notable favorites of his. 

Hall of Fame Steelers writer Ed Bouchette joined the show. Ed expects the Steelers will be better than last year and foresees better play out of the QB and offensive line. Ed likes what Darnell Washington can bring to the table. Ed described why he seems to be a believer in Kenny Pickett as a franchise QB. Ed is questioning how much of a battle it really is between Broderick Jones and Dan Moore, but isn’t sold on Moore. The guys asked Ed how much he is buying into the George Pickens hype. Ed doesn’t agree with the thought of playing some guys like TJ Watt and Cam Heyward tomorrow night.
